Organic Blog Traffic Is No Small Gift

Millions of strangers will blindly pitch strangers today.

Bloggers will try to convince strangers to visit their blog. Some bloggers will try to finagle backlinks from strangers. Others will attempt to get a guest post published on a stranger’s blog.

The penalty of not driving organic traffic is this: chasing strangers and trying to manipulate people you know not into doing something for you becomes the basis for building business.

Does this strategy save time or waste time?

The tactic wastes time because chasing random people wastes time. Do you question my observation? Knock on random doors for the next five hours. Attempt to sell these strangers a vacuum cleaner because….well…..they have a carpet so they must need your vacuum cleaner, eh?

Let me know how that works for you.

Check that. I will save you 5 hours. Almost every person will slam the door shut. Some may say a nice word or two. Others become a vessel for rudeness. Others never open the door. Expect a 100% failure rate. Perhaps one person may buy a vacuum.

Why?

You mindlessly chased unqualified strangers versus mindfully building a business asset which sent highly qualified vacuum cleaner customers to you.

Organic Blog Traffic Corrects the Mistake

Organic blog traffic remedies the above blogging error.

Organic blog traffic:

  • pinpoints people who seek or want your content
  • sends these people to your blog passively while you do stuff offline or work online
  • builds your blog into a passive traffic and passive income asset
  • offers you freedom from time and location

Organic traffic is THE goal.

Look past inorganic traffic.

Either you attract loyal readers and customers…..or waste blogging time.

Stat Checking Phase

Last month I spent time checking Blogging From Paradise Dot Com metrics.

In one case, 75 visitors stopped by my blog 7 minutes after I published a new blog post.

Did I chase those people to visit my new blog post? No. I spent years publishing detailed content to send organic traffic to my blog passively.

Organic blog traffic is the gift that keeps on giving. Each detailed, targeted blog post works like an employee for a blogging company but 24-7, 365. Content never sleeps. Content never eats. Content finds targeted readers like a heat-seeking missile. Blog posts send people who want your content to your blog.  Build your blog into an asset. Enjoy freedom from time and location.

Otherwise you get lost in the vicious cycle of chasing strangers. Some manipulate strangers. Others flat out lie to strangers. Others lob identical pitches that successful blogger strangers have already seen 10,000 times. Some try to pitch a Brazilian steakhouse to a vegetarian then circle the wagons once or twice to ask “one last time” if the vegetarian wants to gorge on meat. Does this strategy make sense? No. But I see the tactic daily in my inbox.

Organic traffic is no small gift.

How would it feel if 75 visitors organically found your blog – minus light distribution – 7 minutes after publishing a new blog post? How would it feel if a decent chunk of these people wanted your content? A volume of readers follow my RSS through Feedly. I know this because I access their email addresses through my RSS; I noted a few who follow me on social media too.

Imagine if someone bookmarked your blog to check it daily for new blog posts. How would that feel compared to pitching strangers for hours today? Doesn’t it sound fun? Freeing? Doesn’t it sound like a peaceful way to thrive?

How Do You Get Organic Blog Traffic?

Published detailed resources to solve common reader problems.

For example, my post for successful bloggers to follow sends organic traffic consistently.

The blog post sits at position #1 on Google for a clear keyword. Bloggers want successful bloggers to follow. My blog post points bloggers in that direction.

I wrote the post based on a clear search query. Make that step one for driving pure organic blog traffic.

But step two is not as easy. Publishing a detailed blog post filled with practical steps takes mindful work.

Set Aside Time to Drive Quality Traffic

Set aside hours to:

  • research
  • write
  • edit
  • publish

long form blog posts.

Bloggers screw up this step big-time.

Why do few bloggers publish organic traffic generating content?

The blogging masses come up short on the truly helpful content side of things.

Most publish thin content. Weak content generates no organic traffic. People want resources not a brief opinion.

Panicking over meager organic traffic metrics, these bloggers attempt to force blog traffic inorganically through error-prone methods like blog post sharing threads. Manipulative schemes drive worthless traffic. Everyone who visits your blog could care less; they just want you to visit their blog.  Anyone can manipulate 500 people to walk in through a revolving door with BS hacks. But as those 500 people walk out through the revolving door without entering the store how does that put money in your pocket?

Give yourself 2-4 hours to research, write, edit and publish long form blog posts. Go above and beyond to connect every dot. Leave out no steps.

Be Thorough to Increase Organic Blog Traffic

My position 1 Google post above drills down into why I chose each blogger for the list. Each of the bloggers is a well-known pro or a budding pro who I personally know and vouch for. Readers feel that. Google feels it too. I gain organic traffic by walking the extra blogging mile.

Add as many details, steps, tips or reasons to a post as possible. Drill down into practical strategies. Offer readers a rich resource. Drive organic blog traffic by being thorough.

Do you want to enjoy the benefits of establishing steady organic traffic?

Do the work. Make the investment. Reap the rewards.

What About Distribution?

If you build it….they will not automatically show up.

Enter promotion.

Distribute blog posts freely across dozens of channels.

Consider:

  • email marketing
  • X
  • Facebook
  • Facebook Groups
  • Facebook Pages
  • LinkedIn
  • LinkedIn Groups
  • LinkedIn Articles
  • Threads
  • Pinterest
  • Blue Sky
  • Mastodon
  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Flipboard
  • Medium
  • Substack
  • Rumble

to point these channels to your new blog post.

The more channels the better.

But work only 2-3 aggressively in terms of active engagement to avoid spreading your distribution self too thin.

Conclusion

Appreciate the power of organic blog traffic.

Publish content to drive targeted people to your blog.

Organic traffic is no small gift.

Rumble has been around for a bit. I drop one video a day there; someone found my blog through the site recently. He/she dropped a blog comment here.

Flipboard is newer, I believe. I treat it like a simple bookmarking site to enhance visibility. I have not gained traction on the platform but will work it to see how it shakes out.
