I published a blog post recently.

The post generated 70 views in 5 minutes.

Some of those 70 views are bots.

Yet many of the views are human beings.

How do I know this?

I built a loyal blog following of folks who:

follow my blog through Feedly
bookmark my blog
follow my blog through social media

Here’s the kicker.

I built Blogging From Paradise Dot Com into a blogging tips niche resource.

Niche resources generate home grown traffic.

People who follow my feed check out new posts quickly.

Every time a new post goes live, Blogging From Paradise Dot Com beams out into the blogging tips niche.

I do not need Google for visibility. My blog is visible in and of itself because I made a posturing decision 12 years ago.

Blogging From Paradise is the traffic source.

Channels point to the source.

I passively generate home grown traffic at the click of a button.

But reaching this point is not easy.

Making your blog and tribe the source and not Google is a highly uncomfortable decision because it demands bloggers to develop:

strong confidence
immense posture
full clarity

Make no mistake about it. I harbor ample blogging-related fears. But since my mind is split I also carry strong confidence. Otherwise, I never would have worked consistently enough to be able to publish a post which generates automatic homegrown traffic.

Google Traffic Is Cool

Google traffic rocks.

But be careful about relying only on the Big G because too many factors go into the search behemoth’s decisions.

Google has these things called shareholders. Shareholders make decisions based on generating maximum profits not on showcasing blog content smack dab at the top of page one. I probably do not need to remind you: Google prioritized AI-generated results over human-generated results a long time ago because position 1 is AI-spun. This clear decision is not a vote of confidence for the human race nor human bloggers. Do you really want to rely on shareholders with gazillions invested in AI who did the clearly obvious thing of backing AI over humans at position 1? Food for thought, for those brave enough to look really closely at their relationship with Google and blog traffic.

What Traffic You Got?

Today people find your blog through Google.

But under artificial intelligence spawned results at the top of page 1; yeah, the human beings find blog posts beneath AI-generated summaries. People find the AI summary first. Some look past AI. Others bounce if AI answers their question thoroughly. That’s not good news for bloggers reliant on Google to drive organic traffic.

You know who does NOT bounce from my blog immediately? The loyal humans out of those 70 views who follow my feed via this Insta-Traffic. Homegrown, organic traffic trusts my content. Loyal readers who gobble up my content trust me; this is why they follow my feed closely.

How about those folks who Google a term and find AI then your blog post on page 1? The number who look past AI to visit your blog may be huge but how many bounce fast? Google is a traffic source.

Loyal community members who read your content fast are the source of instant organic traffic and blogging income.

Big freaking difference between the two, folks.

Loyal Humans Make Google Irrelevant

Whoops.

Sorry.

But it is true.

In a Gaga for Google blogging world, we sometimes forget that people do not need to find a blog that they love.

Do you have a favorite rock band? Do you Google a term related to the group to see the latest and greatest goings on with these rockers? No you do not. You visit the group’s website to get the straight dope.

Ditto for your favorite author. You check their web site to see if the latest book dropped. No one Googles to find that news. Why would they? Google has its narrative. Who knows what Google will rank? But the author’s website exists to give fans relevant, current updates regarding books or anything significant going down with the author.

Begin treating your blog in the same fashion.

Build a strong personal brand.

People never need to search for a blog already within their heart, stamped onto their memory, seared into their mind.

What’s the Challenge of Building Home Grown Traffic?

Bloggers check weekly metrics to get an idea of how things are going.

Achieving homegrown Insta-Traffic is a process unfolding year over year.

You NEVER see that powerful shift in one week but you do see it in a year.

Publishing a heavy volume of quality content onsite and off-site takes years. No one rushes this process because quality content takes great time to create and ship.

Most bloggers lack the stomach for this time frame. I do not blame these folks.

But if you conquer your fears and commit it is a nice feeling to generate immediate traffic after you publish a post, courtesy of loyal fans who follow your feed.

What About Distribution?

Distribute posts aggressively as always.

SEO-optimize posts for Google.

Engage in blogger outreach.

But think bigger.

Blog bigger.

Homegrown traffic can and does find your blog through these distribution channels.

But how many people get your content through a feed the split second you publish a blog post? Do you run an online business or a job masquerading as blogging?

How would it feel if 50 human beings subscribed to your RSS feed?

10 people see the blog post within 5 minutes. 30 see the blog post within 5 hours. 50 see the blog post within 12 hours.

How nice would it feel to have 10 home grown visitors find your blog instantly without any distribution effort on your part? Would you NOT feel like a business owner?

But wait a minute.
