I do not want you to knock anyone out.

Remove the blogging boxing gloves.

Being an aggressive distributor means marketing posts far and wide to show content “the love”.

Every successful blogger bridges the gap between their site and the outside world.

Blogging is more than just publishing posts.

We are one part creator and one part promoter as advanced bloggers. Focus heavily on publishing posts as a beginner.  Shift towards promoting as you advance.

How do you distribute blog posts?

Do you market blog content aggressively?

Big Dawg Blogger

I spoke to one of the top bloggers around a decade ago. We met up in our native New Jersey.

I noted how a recent post of mine reached page 1 of Google.

He congratulated me. The pro then mentioned promoting the post aggressively through as many channels to dominate page one for as long as possible. The moment you snare attention never let it go easily. Spin the blogging top.

The world verified my idea but I had to run with it at that point.

He basically advised me to blitz the hell out of the post. Versus letting the post die a quick death he helped me develop the top spinning analogy for building blogging momentum.

Spin the Blogging Top

Initially give your post maximum promotional momentum. Blitz that sucker through as many targeted channels as possible. Think aggressively. Never be shy when it comes to promoting.

After you blitz the post tap the top every once in awhile by promoting old posts consistently through multiple channels.

I share old content through four online channels daily. I usually promote 5 to 10 blog posts every day to keep spinning the top.

How I Distribute Content

After publishing a blog post I:

  • email my list
  • share the post on Twitter
  • share the post to my Facebook profile, three Facebook Pages and eleven Facebook Groups
  • share the post to my LinkedIn profile and five LinkedIn Groups
  • share the post to Blue Sky
  • pin the post on Pinterest
  • embed the first paragraphs plus a blog post link on Medium, as a LinkedIn Article and to Substack
  • share the post as a YouTube post

I sometimes schedule a second update to X, Facebook and LinkedIn to push the post freely because where your attention and energy goes, grows.

Think Signals First and Foremost

I made a big blogging error for years.

I based distribution solely on human engagement not signals.

Every blogger needs to generate human engagement to drive organic traffic and income.

But the Google algorithm works somewhat differently.  I base this on personal experience.

Anytime I promote blog posts aggressively most with a properly optimized title generate Google traffic. Any post I do not push – even with attractive titles – never sniffs page 1 of Google.

Google prefers signal-happy content. Sharing blog posts through multiple channels sends a loud signal to Google. Adding channels increases signals.

Here’s the tricky part; some channels draw zero engagement but Google cares not because my page one content proves it.

I currently have zero followers on Substack. My Medium following is scant. My social media engagement is light through a few channels. But sharing new blog posts aggressively to the multiple channels listed above increases search engine traffic for me at least.

Is This Process Scientific?

No.

Sorry. I lost a few of you. But this is my style. Take it or leave it.

I base this process on my observation combined with feedback from a high level blogger.

He told me to promote the post through as many channels as possible but with consistency.

I did it. My post topped page one for weeks. After the post dropped from page one the post remained on page two as long as I promoted the blog post aggressively on:

  • X
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest

over weeks.

Blitz your content. Get it out there. Distribute without strings attached. Let it ride.

Spotlight Content

Spotlight content to distribute posts aggressively.

Maximize organic traffic through Google.

Enhance traffic through multiple channels.

I noted the signal effect above. Google prefers links pointing to blog posts through an array of channels. The more spotlighting the stronger the signal. This can only increase search engine exposure.

Following the tactic appeals to readers via preferred streams. Some prefer X. Others like Facebook but hate X. Some love X but hate Blue Sky while others love Blue Sky and hate X. Some enjoy Medium. Others read LinkedIn articles. Some enjoy Pinterest.

Promoting through streams maximizes traffic based on tailored preferences.

What Is the Challenge?

Not relying solely on engagement metrics to build a distribution strategy.

Overcoming the limiting belief: “Why share the post over there if I have no followers and zero engagement?”

Followers and engagement increase AFTER you consistently share content not before.

Playing the long game challenges all bloggers.

Google likes an aggressive link profile. Any blogger can easily build such a profile. Share content to multiple channels. That’s it.

But most bloggers never distribute aggressively for the fear of promoting to “no one”.

Focus on signals not follower counts.

Seek human engagement but promote content aggressively first and foremost.

Never abandon channels quickly just because a low follower count or low engagement compels you to do so.

Ease through the blogging doldrums.

Get through resistant stretches.

Blog like nobody’s watching because nobody watches in the beginning.

Not many people follow your distribution channels at the start. People will follow your handles but only if you persistently:

  • publish helpful content
  • promote helpful content aggressively

Keep blogging keep going.

Market helpful content with a strong blitz consistently.

I know it’s not easy.

But you will thank yourself later.

Generate blog backlinks patiently.

Drop links through your marketing handles consistently.

No one manipulates pro bloggers to land quality backlinks.

Anyone can set up multiple marketing channels.

One Promotional Accelerator

Engage users through marketing channels.

Give engagement.

Get engagement.

Pro bloggers establish one to two highly engaged channels as “go-to” streams. Typically pros build engaged email lists. But engaged X, Facebook and/or LinkedIn followings work.

Email works exceedingly well because it’s convenient. People live in the inbox.

But billions seem plenty addicted to social media too.

Find your engaged following.

Work it to the hilt.

Never lose the spirit of this post, though.

Focus on signals.

Promote content aggressively through multiple channels.

Work from my bullet point list above for marketing ideas.

Conclusion

Give your blog the attention it deserves.

Distribute blog posts aggressively.
