I will not rehash the common post listing ways to make money through blogging.
Been there. Blogged that.
How you sell stuff through your blog is a different story.
Income channels are different from how to successfully work those channels. Anyone can get any job. Why do few people earn significant income through a specific job? A small percentage of humanity knows how to work a job successfully. This sliver knows how to get promoted by rendering maximum service. Successful bloggers go the extra mile, too. How you blog matters most. What you do to earn money blogging is not as important.
After glancing at my blogging eBooks and blogging course I considered why people bought each product.
How did I sell stuff through my blog?
I did specific things consistently from the proper mindset.
Follow these tips to monetize your blog.
1: Create What Readers Tell You to Create
I created:
How to Get Featured on World Famous Blogs Online Course
after readers asked me how I got featured on Forbes. Five or more bloggers asked me the specific question. One blogger told me to sell a course on the topic. The individual told me they would buy the course. Does it get any easier as far as brainstorming product ideas? Do what someone tells you to do. Sell what someone tells you to sell.
Create what readers tell you to create. Sell stuff based explicitly on reader feedback. Let your tribe bring product ideas to you. Execute. Sell what readers tell you to sell.
2: Create Based on First Hand Experience
One of my readers asked me to detail how I went from security guard to globe trotting blogger.
I created this:
7 Things that Inspired Me to Go from Scared Security Guard to Smiling Island Hopper eBook
I listed seven critical ideas learned from first hand experience. I lived it. I remembered it. I mentally outlined how I went from employee to entrepreneur. Writing the eBook relayed my experience to you.
Customers of this eBook appreciate my conversational tone. One feels as if I am sharing my experience one-to-one in a casual offline setting. People dig that.
Create based on what you personally experienced. Detail personal achievements. Maintain rock solid credibility. Be authentic. Sell stuff by sharing your unique experiences. People will pay for it either out of resonance or so they do not have to go through the same trials and tribulations as you. Everyone appreciates not being the guinea pig.
3: Craft Simple Titles
My simple product titles sell best.
For example:
7 Steps to Build a Full Time Income Earning Blog
lists seven simple steps to create a full time income earning blog.
Any blogger understands the promise.
Sales increase if prospective customers easily understand the product title because money changes hands as the promise becomes crystal clear.
Create simple titles. Use basic wording.
Picture yourself appealing to a 5-10 year old child.
Little kids understand:
- the number seven
- the concept of steps
- blogs or at least websites
If little kids understand, adults will understand too.
Strip complexity from this process. Stop being cute. Get right to the point. Sell by being direct not by making readers guess what you sell and how it benefits them.
4: Talk About Products for Sale
Re-read this post.
I mentioned three Blogging From Paradise products for sale; two eBooks and one online course.
A potential sale is one click away because I talked about each.
Never be shy. Self-promote. Discuss what you sell. Stress benefits. Put your stuff on the radar screen.
Give readers the opportunity to buy what you offer by sharing what you offer.
Be subtle. Sell a little bit. Teach often.
Get comfortable with receiving money. Share your business. Never do so unsolicited. Talk about your products casually via your blog. Helping people is one thing. Receiving money for help usually involves conquering worthiness issues.
Note; I conquered deserving issues to sell stuff. Prospering did not come naturally to me. I chipped away at limiting beliefs to build my online business. Self-promoting freely was an important step for me to develop confidence.
5: Teach Often

Bloggers who want to sell stuff may find this blogging eBook attractive.
I taught through my free blog post. My free blog post earned me credibility, boosted my online exposure and placed my products for sale in front of prying blogging eyes.
Teach. Publish blog posts consistently. Tackle pressing matters in your niche. Be thorough. Step readers from difficult problem to practical solution.
Sell by teaching.
Practical Tips
- publish one long form blog post weekly
- share practical tips to solve common niche problems
- share practical content to social media
- cover one niche to build topical authority
6: Build an Email List
It may be tiny but it is mighty.
My email list is woefully small compared to top bloggers from my niche. Yet as I peruse subscribers I notice how many bought my online course and/or eBooks. Converting matters most. Loyal list subscribers buy stuff.
Email marketing is the most convenient profit builder because most people check email multiple times daily. Think of traffic on demand. Subscribers visit your latest post within seconds, minutes or hours after you email the update to your list. Social media updates get buried. Ranking at position one of Google is difficult. Building a responsive email list is instant traffic. Instant traffic generates seamless blogging income.
Build your email list to sell through a convenient channel.
The Bonus Tip
Be consistent.
Follow the above practical steps for years. No; not days, or weeks or months. Years.
Frame work as an investment. The more you invest the more you earn but over the long haul.
Blogging is a casual marathon not a frenetic sprint.
Conclusion
Listen to reader feedback.
Create based on first hand experience.
Craft simple titles.
Talk about products for sale.
Teach often.
Build an email list.
Work these strategies consistently.
Sell stuff through your blog.

Thanks Ryan,
These are great tips, and I have something similar coming in the next few weeks.
It won’t be as specific, nor as personal, as yours, but my audience is different.
But I have been looking at what you do, and have wished I could do something similar.
Excellent Joy. I look forward to checking out your post. Happy prospering!
Really solid list, Ryan — tip 5 resonated most with me. The “cover one niche to build topical authority” point is huge for organic traffic too: when every post supports the same core topic and the posts interlink well, Google starts treating the whole section as the go-to resource rather than judging each post in isolation. One small addition from the SEO side: Search Console’s query data is essentially readers telling you what to create next, so I regularly turn high-impression, low-CTR queries into new post or product angles. Pairing that with your simple-titles advice works nicely, since titles that mirror the actual search phrasing tend to earn the click. Thanks for the reminder that consistent teaching is what makes all of it compound over time.
Excellent points all around, Sidra.
The Google algorithm perceives well linked blogs covering one topic as a comprehensive resource rather than a bunch of stand-alone posts.
I’ve been liking internally and covering the blogging tips niche inside out to take advantage of this sugary sweet benefit.
