Kalkan Turkey

Look up.

This is Leila angling for breakfast bread. She is a constant presence in the kitchen. Old habits die hard with adopted street dogs accustomed to scrounging on the street for survival. She gets 2 square meals now – plus generous biscuit snacks – but does not look past opportunities to increase her caloric intake and sustain her 110 pounds of pure muscle.

Leila is a Turkish Kangal. She is one of my wards now during a 6 week stretch in Turkey, along with her massive sister, Gen. Both big dawgs originate from breeds designed to fight off wolves and bears on the steppes of Turkey. Yes; she has to lower her head a little bit *down* to rest it on the table. She is a big gal.

These dogs are sweet. But one needs to earn their respect by coming to them with love, affection and a willingness to care for them, to gain their trust. Otherwise, these types of big dawgs are aloof at best, and can be highly protective (and scary), at worst.  Both lunge at any dog or person projecting fear. In these rare cases, the dogs mirror back the fear others chose to project onto them. In most cases these two simply ignore anything but love, warmth and compassion.

Blogging Big Dawgs Mirror the Turkish Big Dawgs

Successful blogging big dawgs need similar love, respect and your genuine desire to help or support them, in order to get your toe in the door. Otherwise, influential bloggers will be aloof at best or will tap the block/spam/trash buttons, at worst, which is their version of being protective.

The Challenge

The challenge that I had to go through (before finally learning my lesson) and most 7 billion humans need to suffer is to NOT frame human beings as paper towels to use and dispose of selfishly. When you really pay close attention to your mind, guys, it’s shocking how frequently the ego tells us to use people for our benefit, then kills ’em off in the mind.

But face it you must to move higher in blogging circles to accelerate your success, peacefully, in a pleasant blogging environment of abundance.

The Way Up Is through Genuine Service

Move higher in blogging circles by genuinely helping successful bloggers.

Practical Tips

  • buy their course
  • buy their eBook
  • share their latest blog post to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • drop a genuine blog comment for their latest post
  • ask how you can help them

Service opportunities seem limitless. I share a few practical ways to impress pros via the above bullet point list.

Ask for nothing for you. Expect nothing for yourself. Beg for nothing. Demand nothing. Earn their trust by doing lots of things for them, genuinely and generously.

Impress them to earn their attention. Gain respect by being useful in their eyes. No other way exists. Trying selfish tactics lands your request in spam at best. Being blocked is the worst case scenario; losing access hurts you severely because outsiders can never get in.

Impressed pro bloggers remember your ***consistent*** kindness….and you.

This is no overnight deal.

Keep showing up to help successful bloggers.

Grow on them.

I Block Users Like an Offensive Lineman

I block many users and emailers routinely because they aren’t ready yet to receive my attention; if you try to use established bloggers and kill them off in your mind they will look past or block your fear. I happily help people who support me and/or commit to blogging, being ALL IN on following my advice. I also look past pretenders to focus only on the contenders.

Pro bloggers served for a long time to earn their good name. Earning their attention is a privilege not an arrogant, inherent right. Do not take the prior statement to be special-ness but the by-product of diligently being truly helpful for a long time.

How it works: help people for a long time to become an expert who then picks and chooses who to help.

But frenzied bloggers who lack mental discipline incredibly believe in full entitlement. Deluded individuals really believe in their inherent, full access to blogging big dawgs. Be it asking questions, demanding favors begging for business or other insane strategies, the lost blogging souls of the world need to take this blog post to heart. Some can take being knocked over the head with the truth. I never handle anyone with kid gloves; I respect you too much to hide the truth from you.

Feed the Blogging Big Dawgs their Food

Help pro bloggers. Assist them. Support them. Do stuff for them. Ask for nothing. Earn their trust. Migrate into Blogging Big Dawg Circles to amplify peace and success, taking the blogging elevator to the blogging penthouse.

The world up there is way different: posturing, confidence, abundance, relaxation, generous service…..these emotions are light years ahead of the fear-based spamming fathoms below.

You choose to either consume each other like rats in the cyber sewer or to support pros genuinely to earn their trust, to learn from them and to emulate their success.

Vivid Analogy

Imagine a homeowner.

Some homeowners work patiently for years to afford a mortgage.

Would you open your door to any stranger on the street who begged you, demanded favors or tried to steal your possessions when you weren’t looking?

Or would you keep the door closed to everyone save trusted friends who earned your respect?

Influential bloggers keep their cyber door closed most of the time but graciously open it for:

  • loyal readers
  • customers
  • clients
  • referral traffic builders
  • referral business builders
  • genuine, new readers who want their guidance

Successful bloggers worked patiently for a long time to own their blogging mansion. Serving pros on the way up comprised some of that work.

You will need to do as they do to join the Blogging Big Dawg Club.

Are you up to the task?

I think so.
