Imagine sharing a blogging eBook for sale on Facebook.
Users may see the eBook. But someone needs to:
- spot the eBook in a frenetic main stream
- give the eBook their attention span
- click the link to visit the eBook page
That’s cool.
But imagine another scenario.
Visualize yourself publishing one blog post. What links to the blog post? Why your eBook for sale, of course. Never mind the menu link – like mine above – for a moment. That is one clear link. But an even more obvious link points readers to your eBook: the classic call to action. Yeah; I usually skip the CTA because I organically place three via various menus and embeds on Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.
Bloggers drop links to business products and services at post end. Some embed eBooks for sale or courses for sale. At the end of the day, bloggers who consistently publish posts attach a running commercial organically and inorganically via direct and indirect links. This makes sales increasingly easier to generate since all connects seamlessly.
Consider the clear online business benefit of blogging. No gates. No 3 or 4 step process to get one click. No jumping through hoops to get a click. No social media histrionics to game the algorithm.
Blogging is your algorithm.
Why Did I Write this Post?
I promoted one of my eBooks for sale on:
- X
- Threads
a few moments ago.
I thought about the steps necessary for users to click the link.
Users need to be online now to see the link. Or perhaps some scan my profile later. In either case, I face stiff competition. Billions use Facebook. A chunk of humanity uses X, LinkedIn and Threads. The small demo who follows me may or may not see my eBook for purchase.
Tough odds, right?
You bet!
But blogging levels the blogging field. The odds almost go out the window because I am the algorithm here. Or I set the algorithm. I can publish what I want whenever I want to publish it. Plus my eBooks for sale and courses for sale appear on the:
- top menu
- side menu
- footer menu
The buy links are already connected. Unlike on Facebook, where the buy links are not connected. I need to get users to my profile to see and click the link. Millions populate the main stream of the site at any given time, complicating things. It’s like trying to get someone to take 2-3 or 4 steps just to get an eBook link click over there versus publishing a Blogging From Paradise post involving one simple step to go from content to eBook sales page.
Everything Seamlessly Connects on Blogs
After I publish this post it “goes out to”:
- X
- Threads
- various feeds
By default, anyone who reads this page sees my online business. My online course and eBooks are my online business. Look up and down. Look right (laptop users). Everything connects. You see? Readers do not need to take 3 or 4 steps to see my online business because it is right here, connected to my blog post, fixed at the hip to my content.
Consider the power of going direct through your blog. Visualize the connective nature of running a blog. Never overlook this powerful sales feature.
Bloggers own their online real estate. Customize blogs however you wish. Tailor blogs to point readers to your online store.
Be smart.
Be wise.
Think like an entrepreneur who blogs not an aimless blogger sans a clear, definite purpose.
Never Overlook Blogging
Google gets the lion’s share of attention in the blogging niche. Social media follows. Guest blogging and genuine blog commenting get some pub. All popular traffic channels are of import. I never deny that.
But never overlook sitting down to publish blog posts. Blog posts connect directly to your online business. No gatekeepers. No layers. No multiple steps to take to gain exposure before the prying eyes of customers.
I just spent 45 minutes writing a blog post which organically:
- connects to
- promotes
- endorses
my online business.
All roads lead to my online course and eBooks on Blogging From Paradise Dot Com. Readers do not need to dig much to see:
- what I sell
- how what I sell benefits readers
Look up. Look down. Look at the menus. Scan my sidebar.
Do you see what I mean?
By default, readers view my products pages multiple times the moment one clicks through to Blogging From Paradise Dot Com. Anyone here sees my Store tab, courses tab, online course ad, eBooks ad and both the store tab and eBooks tab via my footer menu.
How can you beat that?
Compare that to the social media circus.
Never turn your back on social media. 5 billion humans cannot be wrong.
But make your blog the priority.
Blogging offers entrepreneurs maximum business visibility.
Social media certainly does not.
Prioritize what you own.
Conclusion
Imagine your blog to be a tree trunk.
Picture your domain and hosting to be a tree’s roots.
Visualize branches to be social media, guest blogging and genuine blog commenting.
In essence, the tree is the trunk.
Strong roots and solid branches lead to the nuts and bolts of the tree, the trunk.
Give most attention and energy to your blog because it is the foundation of your online business.
Interested readers easily see products and services through your blog.
Social media users need to dig quite a bit to see what you sell.
Make your blog the priority.
Build your online business intelligently.
