Most bloggers want fame and fortune overnight.

Perish the thought!

Thank the lucky stars you did NOT become an overnight success. No way would you be able to handle the fame, fortune and responsibilities consistent with being successful. Some bloggers who coach confided in me how they pictured themselves appearing on famous TV shows; yes, even as a newbie blogger. Yikes. Nobody is ready for that in the beginning. Nobody possessed the experience to confidently present themselves in a public setting.ย  I do not care if you are the greatest con men in the history of the world; it ain’t gonna happen.

Imagine This

Imagine having 3 months of blogging experience but no coaching experience. Nobody lands clients a few months into blogging because you have no skills yet. Sorry; no one develops skills in such a miraculous fashion. Bloggers practice for 1000’s of hours to slowly develop skills.

So, overnight success kisses you by some random twist. Clients fill your email inbox. But you have no experience to coach them! Look out; you will be exposed as a fraud. Failure follows. Everything falls apart because nothing came together on solid ground.

Prepare for Success

Fast fame found you for some odd reason. Perhaps you manipulated a system with lies. Maybe you used deceit to fool idiots. But success flows in and out like the tide for those unprepared for it. Lasting success originates from a long term effort. Blogging gives you what you give to blogging. Give it a little and you will get a little. Amplify your reach way too quickly to experience an embarrassing situation. Milli Vanilli, anyone?

Does overnight success sound like a dream now? Overnight success โ€“ in the rarest of cases when someone appears to take off overnight โ€“ becomes an absolute nightmare. Think 15 minutes of fame.ย  Yeah; the crazy quick rise and public downfall of that German duo above. Justin Bieber is another tragic example.ย  MV and JB had some talent but pushed fame on themselves before being mentally prepared, emotionally intelligent and highly experienced (and skilled) enough to receive it.

Picture This

Picture landing a TV interview in front of a 20,000,000 viewer audience as part of your overnight success plan. The interviewer asks you questions. You sit there, terrified, nervous, stuttering, looking like a fool with no coaching experience, little blogging experience and no interviewing experience. Career over. You are toast. Appearing to be a fool pours egoic salt in the wounds. No one enjoys looking like an asshole in front of 20 million human beings.

What prevents such a humiliating scenario?

Record YouTube videos . Talk into the camera for 5,000 hours. Spend 5 years broadcasting live. Practice. Become highly skilled. Become confident in front of the camera. Develop your blogging skills. Practice writing like the dickens. Infuse personal stories into your blog. Establish clarity. Gain about 10,000 hours of blogging experience. Becoming *that* experienced offers you the confidence to shine before 20 million human beings without breaking a sweat.

Blogging Mindset

I focus heavily on the mindset aspect of blogging; you know this by now.

The inner pictures become the outer pictures.

New bloggers need to practice diligently to overcome crippling inner images fueled by doubts. Beginner bloggers need to work patiently to convert the inner pictures of fear into inner pictures of trust. That takes a great deal of work which requires a great deal of time.

Highly experienced bloggers:

  • coach successfully
  • sell eBooks successfully
  • empower readers successfully

Think; if you have no skills as a blogging coach how can you confidently tailor coaching packages based on the subtle differences among different clients? How can you spot their different problems being blinded by your own doubts? You canโ€™t do it. Plain and simple. Blogging successfully requires serious work. Coaching successfully demands one to observe the struggles of many human beings. Doing this skillfully requires great practice.

Slow Down to Earn It

Relax. Slow down. Calm down. Being successful is never an overnight deal. Going pro requires years of generous service to increase your skills, exposure and credibility.

Overnight success does not exist. Thank goodness it does not!

Imagine being flooded with fame from an unprepared mindset. Why do so many entertainers crumble to alcoholism? Why do so many fall apart from drug addiction? People who desperately chase fame and money before being mentally prepared for wealth and global popularity find the experience an abject nightmare.

New Blogging Me

I visualize myself as a new blogger 17 years ago. I felt crippled by self-doubts. I secretly prayed that no one would visit my blog. Thank the lucky stars nobody did.

Imagine if 15 vicious critics showed up to skewer my blog during those delicate blogging days?

I would have quit on the spot. I am not kidding. My emotional intelligence was so low during those days. I could barely handle someone offering me an opposing viewpoint let alone someone disagreeing with me. Forget about someone mocking me and my blog. Rage, embarrassment and shame would have flooded my being to the point of quitting blogging.

Imagine that?

Anyone can say just about anything in regards to me and Blogging From Paradise Dot Com without me batting an eyelash these days. Do something for 15,000 plus hours and something funny happens; your experience with all types of feedback establishes a somewhat super human level of emotional intelligence that puts a largely scared world in awe.

I am not special. But I did choose to gain enough blogging experience to know that blogging feedback is a person’s thoughts and nothing else. Mentally injured individuals offered mentally injured thoughts. What do their mental injuries have to do with me?

Do you understand why you absolutely do no want overnight success?

Conclusion

Do blogging the old fashioned way.

Create and connect for a while.

Be confident.

Relax.

Develop skills.

Become experienced.

Develop emotional intelligence.

Enjoy the fruits of blogging success along with a mind prepared to receive it.
