Garfield went cuckoo for the gringos.
At 5:15 AM yesterday, a large tabby ran amok in the backyard. He went ape shit.
Sprinting in circles, he looked like Carl Lewis chasing his tail.
The krazy kitty leapt into the yard via a 9 foot wall. He quickly realized that no way out seemed to exist.
Being walled in – initially at least – the cat panicked, running wildly in circles, panicked out of his mind.
His terrorized behavior set off the dog waiting in the house to sink her fangs into the kitty. The dog does not like stranger cats one bit. She frantically clawed at the air, barking behind the sliding glass door, begging for her pound of feline flesh.
I calmly traipsed into the backyard with a cool demeanor to let tabby know the way out. I opened the gate wide for him to see and use the right of way. But his panic blinded him to the way out.
At one point, the cat was within 2 feet of a wide open gate. He did not see the opening even though the 4 foot wide berth appeared 2 feet to his left.
Why?
His fears of:
- being trapped
- being in close proximity to a human being
blinded him from the fact that he was no longer trapped and that I waited 10 feet behind him, in the yard, gently goading him toward the wide open gate.
I tried another tact; walking outside of the yard and to the street seemed sensible.
But at that point he took the difficult but escape-friendly path I had not noticed prior.
Garfield found a chair at the end of the backyard and leapt into a tiny opening within the bushes. Somehow, his paws found purchase then he hopped onto the rancho roof. Two seconds later he officially left the property.
Fear in his mind prevented him from seeing the simple, direct way out. Fear in his mind prevented him from seeing that he was no longer trapped, but free.
Most Bloggers Mentally Entrap Themselves Like Garfield Did
Most bloggers behave identically to that cat.
Fear in their mind keeps them scared, bound, struggling and failing even though the way out of fear, feeling bound, struggling and failing is an open door right in front of their nose. I mean that literally not figuratively. Bloggers have the answer now but terror imprisons them and the way out appears to be impossible according to their unconscious fears and mental bondage.
Most remain hidden in the bushes for so long until their blog all but disappears and they quit blogging all together.
A select few do as the cat did; instead of facing their fear then finding the direct, seamless way out they avoid their fears and choose the highly complex, difficult way out. Some worldly success may follow but with straining and striving since they personally chose to make the job harder.
What Is the Blogging Open Gate to Freedom?
Follow successful strategies taught by successful pros to succeed yourself.
That is the open gate to freedom.
All professional bloggers follow some basic strategies taught by pros who came before them.
Future pros will follow successful advice from current pros because future pros have wisdom, now.
Everyone else will struggle, fail and quit sooner than later because like Garfield, everyone else refuses to face the terrors in their mind which blinds them to the open gate.
Being blind to freedom, this crowd defends its:
- strategies (usually involving “winging it”)
- struggles
- failure
I will offer bloggers practical advice to follow for their success.
Some:
- never read the advice
- read but never follow the advice
- ask 5 more blogging questions about what they believe will be the successful way for them
The cat’s fear blinded it to the freedom-gate right in front of its nose.
Struggling blogger’s fear blinds them from the freedom-gate via proven, successful strategies right in front of their nose.
Making matters worse, these struggling bloggers begin to walk to the back of the yard to do it “their way” via:
- winging it
- experimenting
- explaining why their strategy will work
- explaining why my successful, simple blogging strategy is not for them
- struggling, straining and striving to “prove” that they are right versus following proven pro guidance, succeeding, being happy and free
Knock yourself out, fraidy cats.
Obviously, you have it all figured out, right?
I mean, you only came to me struggling, asking for my successful blogging guidance, correct?
I guess the 16 year blogging veteran does not know how to blog and the struggling, unhappy blogger knows how to blog, even though they initially admitted their struggles and frustrations and even asked for guidance from an experienced blogger.
I have a 10 word solution for this panicked kitty, blind to freedom, crowd:
“You have no clue what the hell you are doing.”
Say it. Repeat it to yourself. Accept this truth. Follow guidance from someone who knows what they are doing. Relax. Slowly but surely, begin to succeed.
I can open the gate.
But I cannot force you to look truthfully at your mind; that’s your job and your job alone.
I can write posts like this to establish clever analogies from the tropics which you can relate to. I can create these teaching aids which bore holes through the stubborn egoic voice in your mind.
You decide the next step to take, though.
Would you experiment with being a doctor?
Would you experiment with being a lawyer?
How about being a fireman or firewoman? Would you wing it?
Learn from skilled, experienced bloggers just like going to med school, law school or training at the academy.
Face your fears.
Walk out of the gate into freedom.
It is open…..right in front of your nose.
Can you see it?
You better….because it is the seamless way out.
It is not necessarily the comfortable way or the easy way but it is the direct way.
Every other way is panic driven and leads to failure mostly or muted, stressful, complex success in rare cases.
Face, feel and look past your fears.
Calm your mind.
Take the way out.
Follow guidance from pros to begin succeeding now.
