Top bloggers link to Blogging From Paradise Dot Com from time to time.
My blog is not special.
But each high quality backlink proves that in the eyes of top shelf pros, I publish highly practical blogging tips.
Backlinks become vetting mechanisms.
Imagine if an established pro links to your blog. What does the backlink prove? The highly credible blogger believes your blog to be highly credible. Backlinks do not grow on trees. Pros link to bloggers who earned the backlink. No full-time blogger puts their reputation on the line for a favor or via your stroke of great luck.
Luck and Favor Seekers
Yet most backlink-seekers believe that luck or asking for favors net quality backlinks.
I know; my inbox proves this wide-ranging belief. My social media comments verify the theory. My email inbox, blog comments and forum inbox and comments clearly prove that most believe luck or asking for favors generates high quality backlinks.
Not only is this untrue, the idea becomes insane if you think about it for a few minutes.
Basketball Scenario
Picture if I picked up a basketball for the first time today.
Imagine if I called the Boston Celtics front office to ask for a spot on the team as a favor. Perhaps Lady Luck would bless me with a roster spot.
Wait a second; how did the Celtics players secure a spot on the roster? All NBA players practice basketball for 1000’s of hours before going pro. Most NBA players sport a high level of athleticism. Some seem blessed with freakish athleticism yet all spend serious time in the gym honing their fast twitch fibers.
Have you?
No you have not.
You just picked up a basketball for the first time today.
Asking an NBA team for a roster spot is utterly insane because you have no experience playing hoops and it takes year’s worth of practice and great athleticism to make the NBA.
Why do new bloggers without one post to their name ask for a backlink from Blogging From Paradise Dot Com?
People unconsciously think insanely. Most human beings want:
- skills
- success
- fame
- money
without developing a useful skill. People want something for nothing. As the desire deepens the insanity strengthens to delusional levels difficult to be believed.
Can You Imagine This?
Can you imagine if I put my:
- 17 year blogging career
- 20,000 hours of blogging work
- high quality backlinks
- loyal blogging community
on the line for a favor offered to an untested, green blogging stranger?
Or because I want them to get lucky?
Do you see from my perspective now?
Do you understand why thinking that luck or asking for favors are both nut bag approaches to landing quality backlinks?
People perceive blogging to be less than credible. Harboring this flawed perception goads foolish minds to ask for backlinks as a favor. Or maybe these folks depend on luck to score high quality backlinks via famous blogs.
Either approach is madness manifest.
Gain backlinks by patiently developing your blogging skills.
Luck has nothing to do with the process.
Pros doling out mindless favors to be nice blogging guys or nice blogging gals certainly has nothing to do with the process.
How About Yourself?
Imagine if someone knocked on your front door.
The stranger asks you for access to your checking account and savings account; the individual needs a favor.
Would you offer your PIN number to the stranger?
Would you send the routing number to the individual off of the street?
You would not for the same reason why I do not link to greenhorn stranger bloggers.
The world does not work this way. Nor will the world ever work this way. People trust credible humans. People perceive others to be credible based on many factors, yet, seeing true helpfulness almost always instills a strong sense of trust in an individual.
My blog is a resource not a favor space.
I publish blogging tips to be helpful for bloggers.
I do not offer favors to bloggers allergic to putting in the work themselves.
What Is the Only Solution
The *ONLY SOLUTION* is:
- writing targeted, detailed content for 1000’s of hours
- building genuine bonds with readers
- building authentic bonds with successful bloggers from your niche
Set year over year time frames for your backlink goals. Nobody practices blogging for 24 hours daily. Most practice for 2 hours today, 8 hours tomorrow then 3 hours the next day and maybe 7 a few days from now…..or something like that. At week’s end, look closely at the 20 hours you patiently practiced. Is 20 hours 4,000 hours? Nope. The 20 hours of blogging work goes towards the 4,000 hours but you just began to invest some time and work into blogging.
Relax; you will be here for a while. Being here for a while means blogging for 1000’s of hours spanning years of your life.
Allow the numbers to sink in. Never run from the time frames. Nobody has access to time travel. Everyone blogs for the long haul before getting high quality backlinks.
Father Time tests us all.
Father Work also quizzes more than one blogger.
Why Do Few Bloggers Nab High Quality Backlinks?
Re-read the numbers in the prior few paragraphs.
What words and emotions surface in your mind?
Look closely at doubt. Observe unconscious rejections (“I mean there *has* to be a shortcut for this process…..right?”). Pay attention to limiting beliefs triggered. Note the denial of reality. Spot the urge to get something for nothing, even after I laid out the straight blogging dope on this insane concept. Do you feel intimidated after reading and processing those numbers? Do you believe that no credible pro will ever link to you? Do you assume that you will never become skilled enough to gain quality backlinks?
All of those emotions in the mind are the reason why few bloggers score quality high backlinks. Most push those awful feelings and negative words down deeper into the unconscious mind, trust the mental poison then do insane things like asking for backlink favors from pro bloggers. People do loony things because people push fears deep into the unconscious mind. Being unaware of their fears, they do kooky stuff.
Face, feel and release fears in your mind. Shine the light of truth onto these inner demons. Something neat happens; you gradually feel calmer because fear causes less chaos in the mind. Feeling calmer helps you think clearly. Thinking clearly dissolves delusions. Dissolving delusions impels you to:
- publish targeted, detailed content
- bond with readers
- bond with pro bloggers from your niche
for 1000’s of hours.
High quality backlinks gradually follow after you do these things for 1000’s of hours.
Conclusion
Conquer your inner demons guys. Fear creates delusion. Delusional bloggers depend on luck or favors for scoring trusted backlinks.
Building quality links gets increasingly easier by doing inner leg work. Spend some time in quiet. Observe limiting beliefs related to getting backlinks. You’ll see.
Gaining high level backlinks is proof that your blog has been vetted by credible bloggers.
Enjoy the pro blogger seal of approval.
Put away your backlink begging bowl.
Stop waiting for Lady Blogging Luck to bless you.
Treat blogging like a science not a wing and a prayer.
