Content generates quality backlinks.
Strike that.
Quality content generates quality backlinks.
Detailed blog posts convince successful bloggers to link to blogs. I link to helpful content. Helpful content benefits my readers. Helpful content solidifies my credibility. Helpful content enhances Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.
Established bloggers think this way.
How do you publish quality content?
Write. Write some more. After writing some more, write some more. Put in the writing repetitions. Here I am writing at 9 PM on a Sunday night 18 years into my blogging career. I write daily. I probably wrote something almost every day since I began blogging 18 years ago.
Note; I did not publish a blog post daily. But I did write daily. Some days I wrote a few blog comments. Other days I wrote a few social media updates. Other days I wrote a blog post. But I wrote!
Develop the fundamental skill for getting trusted blog backlinks.
Write 500 words daily for practice. Write online. Write offline. Gain clarity. Develop confidence. Believe in your written word. Publish one blog post weekly. Be seen. Be heard. Be relevant. Ship. Beam your writing out to the general public. Open your blog to feedback, including glowing endorsements from established bloggers who drop high quality backlinks that point to your blog.
Why Writing Consistently Builds Credible Backlinks
Backlink builders sometimes miss the boat.
Perhaps their outreach game is tight. Maybe a specialist builds strong relationships.
That’s all well and good.
But if you cannot write skillfully no pro blogger will link to your blog.
I learned this lesson early. I built my blogger friend network. Was I connected? Yep. But no one linked to my old blog. No one trusted my blog. Nor should they have; I hadn’t written consistently. I had yet to hammer out my writing voice. I did not communicate my ideas effectively. I had not practiced writing enough to reach that point.
After writing daily for a substantial time frame I felt good about my content. Readers responded favorably. Successful bloggers dropped links pointing to my old blog.
Things went into overdrive the moment I created Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.
My friends amplified my blogging reach. Pros dropped links to my blog because I practiced writing for years, first and foremost. I built my network. Yet writing diligently put me over the top.
Pro bloggers linked to my blog confidently. My content proved itself. But only because I wrote my a** off for 1000’s of hours.
Writing Is More Important than Doing Blogger Outreach
Think it through.
Pros link to credible content.
Prolific bloggers publish credible content. Prolific bloggers write diligently to become prolific.
Established bloggers publish a high quantity of quality content. How? Credible bloggers write like crazy for years to reach this rare goal. Most never hit both quantity and quality. Few write consistently enough for years to hit the blogging mark.
I do not care how connected you become. No pro links to low quality blog posts. No one puts their credibility on the line like that. No one puts their reputation on the line for a favor.
If a steady volume of bloggers come across a low quality post no one links to the questionable content.
If a few successful bloggers come across a high quality post a few link to the high quality content.
Writers position themselves to score high quality backlinks on the regular.
Prioritize writing over doing blogger outreach. Write first. Publish second. Do outreach after completing the first two steps.
How to Practice WritingÂ
- open a Word document; write 500 words daily for practice
- write and publish one long form post weekly
- write genuine comments on blogs from your niche
- write thorough content for social media and LinkedIn
However you decide to write…..just write.
Do the number one thing required to generate high quality blog backlinks.
My Experience with Writing and Getting Trusted Backlinks
I scored a few high quality backlinks back in the day.
Writing gave me enough confidence to know I could land quality backlinks from top bloggers.
Now…..it has been a long time since I initially scored these backlinks so most have been removed for one of many reasons. I note this for transparency.
At my peak, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Neil Patel Dot Com, Fox News, Market Watch and Smart Blogger linked to Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.
Writing consistently made me confident. I knew I could score quality links because I put in the work. I published content to pop up on the blogging radar screen. I dropped genuine comments and guest posts to bridge the gap between my blog and the outside world. Commenting and guest blogging amplified my writing practice.
I scored these links because I practiced writing for 1000’s of hours.
Guess what?
Most readers will only see some of your writing work.
Who cares?
Focus on the end game.
Write like the dickens.
Gain confidence.
Establish clarity.
Get backlinks.
