AI may be the wave of the future.
The world largely backs it.
Goodness knows that the big money pushes AI at every opportunity.
I don’t blame ’em. If I backed a horse worth this much dough I’d tell people that they need it, too.
But AI loses to your personal blogging story every time.
Topical authority beats artificial intelligence every time.
Stories sell. AI blogging recycles. Stories snag your attention span. AI blogging commences the snooze fest.
I see AI-generated comments daily in my back office. Every AI comment goes to my spam or trash folder. Every single AI-generated comment:
- copies my content
- rephrases my content
- parrots my content back to me via awkward-sounding recycling
- signs off on the comment as its own
Hey; it’s a free country. Let it do as it does.
Problems arise when AI-generated blog posts sound similar to the millions generated by other bloggers using the same AI because it is “quick and easy”. Humans look past generic content to personal stories because stories sell.
Human bloggers who:
- develop their writing skills
- inject personal stories into blog posts
- empathize with readers
- build a personal component into their brand
dominate AI-generated content for a clear reason.
Humans trust humans over an artificial thing that cannot care about you.
AI Cannot Care About You
AI is not capable of expressing a deep interest in you.
How could it?
Imagine a computer program. Do you believe that the program knows what you have been through? Does the program feel what you feel? Of course not; it is a bunch of 1’s and 0’s not anything with a mind and heart.
I read AI-generated comments on my blog every day. Something that does not exist spins words already created into mindless babble. Non-sense. Is nothing generating nonsense a good look for your blog? Does this silliness reflect positively on your brand? Does this generic cyber vomit project a positive image for your online business?
Think about artificial intelligence.
Before generating content does AI:
- think about you compassionately?
- care about you with empathy?
- consider a heart-centered approach?
AI cannot think. AI artificially re-packages human-generated – or AI-generated – content.
AI does not feel your pain. AI does not feel excited about your dreams. AI does not picture itself in your shoes before generating content for you.
Why would you trust something that cannot feel you?
I beats AI every time.
I infuse personal stories into Blogging From Paradise because I care about you. I care about fellow human beings. I know their struggles well. I am human too, remember? We all go through tough times. We know the agony of defeat and the thrill of victory.
What cannot understand tough times, the agony of defeat and the thrill of victory? AI.
My first person stories beat AI. I care about you. I think about you. AI cannot care about you. AI cannot think about you. AI is just a program that takes content and recycles the content. Sometimes it recycles carefully and other times it recycles carelessly.
Human bloggers publish careful and careless content too but readers respect careful and careless humans willing to put it all out there with their genuine, first person stories. I cannot say that an artificial thing commands the same level of respect. AI repackages information but can it publish something vetted by human experience? No it cannot.
Skilled Human Bloggers Earn Trust
Skilled humans earn trust.
Artificial intelligence struggles to earn trust because it cannot earn the right to be trusted. If humans did what AI does why would humans not be charged with plagiarism? At the very least, humans trudge into murky ethical waters by trying to do what AI does.
Perhaps you turn to artificial intelligence to work for you.
But do you turn to AI to teach your children?
Look closely at the last ten things that you purchased.
Did AI “make” each thing exclusively? Did artificial intelligence generate it?
AI probably enhanced a few products or services from the above list. Everything can be potentially helpful in duality. But do you want AI to exclusively make everything that you use?
People trust people.
“I” beats AI every time.
Humans trust humans.
“I” beats AI every time.
AI enhances.
Humans create.
Humans create something original.
AI twists the original human creation into something it is not.
Does offering this “service” sound ethical to you? Do you support a fellow blogger by using AI to twist his or her work into something it is not?
I am not a smart guy. But if I took something you created and used something artificial to twist it into something that you publish under your name…..is that ethical? Do you help fellow bloggers by doing this with their work? Perhaps it is not robbery. But maybe it is?
Every human being willing to look with an open mind knows AI-generated content is highly questionable.
Human beings who blog from the heart are rarely questionable because the heart-centered approach is beyond reproach. Bloggers who love you publish truly helpful content without asking for anything from you. The clinically insane could have a problem with these individuals. No one else does.
Kind, generous people do not deceive. AI does.
I beats AI every time.
What About Brainstorming and Setting Up Outlines?
Using AI as a light aid to brainstorm and set up outlines seems ethical.
Stimulate your mind with an artificial aid if needed.
Use tools to get the ball rolling.
Perceive AI to be a tool not a comprehensive solution.
I see AI as an idea generator at best.
Use artificial intelligence to generate a few words. Work from those few words with your mind.
Avoid using artificial intelligence to generate 1000 or 2000 words. This is when the trouble begins because content made by AI loses its identity. Your work becomes artificial. People access artificial content from millions of sources.
Try building a business that people can find in millions of spots before stumbling across your business.
See how well that works for you.
Conclusion
Use AI as an aid not a crutch if you must.
Build first person stories into your blog to make it AI-proof.
I beats AI.
