What it takes to become a full time blogger might surprise you.
Most figure that executing complex, difficult to understand actions leads to success.
Believe it or not, becoming a professional blogger hinges on following two simple principles.
Following each strategy from a non-compromising approach positions you to blog as a full time career.
A basic, 2-step approach to going pro doesn’t sound that bad, eh? Sure I paint with some broad strokes here. Adding details means going pro involves a helluva lot more than taking two steps. But as far as fundamental concepts, you better believe that these two steps are incredibly important.
Following each step is not a Herculean task. I know this from personal experience.
Actually, following these steps feels cathartic in many ways because working to serve and doing a dazzling job creates a sense of fulfillment from within your mind.
Does that sound fun?
If so, follow these two tips to lay the foundation for a pro blogging career.
1: Do Your Own Work
Do your own blogging work.
Put in the time to gain skills, credibility and exposure.
Full time bloggers patiently practice to reach the top of their blogging niche. Pros work to become highly skilled. Full time bloggers gain valuable experience which earns credibility and exposure.
For example, observe this blog post. Work I execute now gives me experience, exposure, credibility and skills to amplify my blogging success.
I never ask someone else to do the blogging work for me. I do the work to accelerate my success.
Do your own blogging work. Gain invaluable experience. Learn the in’s and out’s of blogging.
Put in the time to eventually become a professional blogger.
Let go lazy urges. Cease desiring to get something for nothing.
Work makes you successful because work sets a strong blogging foundation for a profitable blogging career.
Imagine a pro blogger sitting down to write a long form blog post. The post drives traffic and income only because the blogger worked for a long time to be skilled, credible and seen. Literally, the work builds the income because helping people creates success.
Think Long Term
If a pro writes and publishes a 1200 word post in 1 hour it really took the pro years to achieve the feat.
Right now, the pro appears to have the ability to write and publish the post in 60 minutes but only because the individual spent 1000’s of hours spanning years writing and gaining skills.
I may be butchering this story but take the spirit of the message guys…..
A well-known artist whipped up a painting in 15 minutes for someone on the street. After the customer asked the price the genius painter charged $30,000. Enraged, the customer asked why he would charge $30,000 for only 15 minutes of work. The genius painter corrected the confused customer; he charged $30,000 for the 35 years of painting practice, expertise and genius he put in to be able to paint brilliant work like a wizard in 15 minutes.
Think long term. Name your price later. Put in the work for a long time to name your price down the road.
Professional athletes embody this concept perfectly. Michael Jordan became a billionaire largely due to earning passive, residual income from his Nike Jordan Brand. But he practiced like a machine for decades to become the greatest player of all time and the richest athlete ever. Putting in the work earned him the massive fortune over the long term.
He earns hundreds of thousands of dollars daily in passive income nearly 40 years after being drafted in to the NBA and decades after retiring.
Earning that dizzying income daily came from practicing like a beast for decades. He put in incredible work to earn a massive fortune.
2: Never Take Shortcuts
Pro bloggers never take shortcuts.
Full time bloggers walk the extra mile.
Cutting corners robs you of the:
- work
- skills
- credibility
- exposure
- experience
required to go pro.
Skipping what you need to go pro makes you a blogging amateur forever.
Put in extra blogging work. Set a precedent to never cut corners. Walk the extra blogging mile. Lose the urge to take blogging shortcuts.
Observe Business Icons
Again guys; revisit icons.
Billionaires do not take shortcuts.
Business leaders never cut corners.
The wealthiest people on earth pay strict attention to detail to walk on the razor’s edge.
Elon Musk is known for being meticulous. Jeff Bezos also worked overtime to drill down to the seemingly tiniest details. Both became the richest people in the world because neither took shortcuts.
Full time bloggers put in a full time effort with a full time mindset for a long time.
Publish only highly-targeted, long-form blog posts spanning 1200 plus words to your blog. Each winning blog post creates an authority full body of blogging work.
Promote your eBooks, online courses and coaching on a daily basis. Leave nothing to chance. Put yourself out there every single day.
Engage readers closely. Personalize interactions. Be accessible. Engage in a strict blogger outreach campaign.
Do all of the legwork necessary in order to go full time down the road.
No shortcuts exist in the blogging game.
Cutting corners is not possible.
Doing the full job creates a full time blogging career.
Pay attention to all necessary details in order to thrive over the long haul.
Schedule posts to do a smash up job. Give yourself time to do the job right. Stay up later and wake up earlier to give a little extra effort to make your blog shine.
You will thank yourself down the road as a professional blogger.
Bloggers who walk the extra mile now get quite far 1, 2 or 5 years down the road.
Imagine the compounding effect of doing an excellent blogging job daily for 5 years.
Each sensational daily job adds up to an incredibly impressive blog over the long term.
Conclusion
Put in blogging work to gain skills, credibility and exposure.
Never cut corners.
Become a full time blogger by following these two steps very closely.
