Anyone can create a persona.

Bloggers seem good at hiding the bad while stressing the good.

Never mind how bloggers discuss only wins without sharing miserable failures.

Who lives like that?

Did you ever fail? Of course you failed thousands of times at various ventures; we all do.

We live in a world of imperfection. Failure worms itself into the system. Billionaires struggle to make money before becoming billionaires. Transcendent talents fail their way into becoming the best. Some seem lost in an endless cycle of struggle. I suffered through pathetic stretches for years of my existence.

The world attempts to project the impossible.

Bloggers err colossally by trying to create an air of perfection about themselves. The perfect post. The perfect camera angle. The perfect delivery. Discussing only highlights. Hiding the lows because you fear being a fraud.

This tendency infects all bloggers at one time or another.

Making yourself appear to be perfect appeals only to deluded minds.

Sane people distrust FAKE bloggers.

What do I mean by FAKE?

False

Artificial

Know-it-all

Egocentric

False

Fake bloggers are false.

Bloggers who resist sharing the truth flash a red flag.

I discuss failures and successes through my blog, online course and eBooks. Anything less would be false.

I appear to be fairly skilled now. But I practiced blogging for 18 years to the tune of 15,000 hours. That is the rest of the story. I share it all; wins, losses, success, failure and the work I put in to become who I am today.

Be real. Share highs and lows. Stop projecting false claims. Beware using the word “easy” for any reason. New bloggers who claim easy aspects of blogging are full of shit. Highly experienced bloggers using the word “easy” forget the years of difficult work before it appeared to be easy.

Be straight with your readers.

Share struggles. Stress work. Focus on skills development. Connect the dots.

Never horse shit your readers.

They will love you for it.

One of my eBook customers noted the other day how my story inspired him because my auto-biographical take stepped him through my experience. I share my wins and losses in that eBook. Being transparent allows readers to step into their imperfections. Experiencing success despite screwing up gives everyone permission to live their dreams despite their weaknesses.

Artificial

Artificial bloggers try to get by using surface-level strategies lacking true helpfulness.

Whether relying solely on AI to spin posts or giving only the minimum amount of information to squeeze traffic through their blog, this crowd struggles mightily.

None know that giving precedes receiving.

Pro bloggers give away the farm for years before going full-time.

I only sniffed organic traffic after publishing detailed content for months.

Now my blog generates up to 50,000 monthly visitors. Why? I published genuinely helpful blog posts for 12 years.

Give. Receive.

Giving away as much detailed content as possible skyrockets organic blog traffic over the years.

But helping readers with rich resources is just one aspect of being genuine.

Add your personal experiences to content. Be yourself. Blog in your unique voice. Dig below the surface.

Anyone can vomit a bland third person perspective. Most do. Most struggle.

Blog from your heart. Share your story. Empower readers to tell their story.

Form emotional bonds with your readers. Build a loyal community. Be authentic.

Publish rich solutions to reader problems offered from your special perspective.

Know-it-all

Failing bloggers claim to know it all.

The ego knows no bounds.

It claims to be the only reliable source in a blogging niche with many helpful resources.

A plethora of blogging tips bloggers share truly helpful perspectives. I compete against no one. We all bring unique talents to the table.

I specialize in the mindset aspect of blogging. Other bloggers master SEO. Yet other bloggers focus heavily on building relationships.

Never morph into an insufferable know-it-all because no one knows it all.

Attempting to project a flawless image of being the only trusted authority smells of self-doubt. Scared bloggers puff themselves up like a bird on a chilly winter day. One negative comment later, a critic pops their illusory balloon of self-confidence. All falls to custard after that.

Be humble. Learn from successful bloggers to shore up your weaknesses. Accentuate your strengths but follow bloggers who do a smash-up job with what you do poorly.

Egocentric

Most bloggers go through egocentric stretches.

Goodness knows I did.

I have since forgiven myself.

Perhaps it is time to address your egocentric tendencies.

Before proceeding, it is OK to exude confidence in your abilities. I do not want you to step backwards in self-doubt.

Being egocentric means making your blog mostly about your needs not helping your readers.

Why did I write this post?

I thought about:

you
your fear of being perceived as a fraud
you being stricken with the perfection curse
your resistance to discussing painful personal failures, monumental struggles and pretty much every aspect of being a normal human being

I thought 100% about you and not at all about me before writing the post.

I did think about my personal experience as I wrote this sucker but only to empower you.

For example, I write 10,000 plus words daily easily now but 18 years ago I slammed into writer’s block after writing 300 words. Sometimes I began to tear up because I believed I was an idiot, a total loser, since I could not write beyond 300 words for each blog post.

Yes; this is the same guy in name.

But I practiced writing daily for 18 years.

Practicing gets you through tough times.

Eventually you become:

skilled
clear
confident

by putting in the repetitions.

There is no ego here. Or at least, there is little ego here. I have to put my ego to the side to be vulnerable. I open myself up primarily for you to do the same.

Park your ego at the curb.

Do things to help others.

Be heart-centered.

Empower your followers.

Love the blogging ride by shedding as much of your ego as possible.

The more you live for others the easier life gets.

Forget about experiencing worldly success for a moment.

How about achieving consistent peace of mind?

Genuine servants have it.
