Smart bloggers increase traffic with what they have.

Struggling bloggers try to publish more content while ignoring what they already have.

Wise bloggers go pro.

Pretty much everyone else quits sooner than later.

How to Get More Traffic with Less Content

Tell me the truth.

The header above sounds sexy, doesn’t it?

Never mind the title for this blog post.

Getting more with less sounds lazy. Is it a shortcut? Not really. Physically, it appears to be a shortcut. But diving into the mental world reveals a far different story.

Getting more with less requires you to think strategically.

Thinking deliberately is not lazy at all. Engaging in sustained thinking taxes everyone. Who loves sitting in quiet as the roaring rapids of the mind create a thought tsunami? I do not. You do not.

But doing less requires thinking more; at least if you want organic traffic and passive blogging income.

Bloggers still need to work consistently to go pro. I never let any blogger off of the hook in that regard. Apply the methods below to blog posts. But write and publish new blog posts consistently to genuinely thrive. Apply the tips below to new content. In truth, following steps 2, 3 and 4 is a “set it and forget it” deal.  Either use a plugin or widget embed to get the job done. You need to consistently create new content to scale effectively while optimizing “old” content. Adopt this 2-pronged approach to become highly successful.

Think Like a Smart Entrepreneur

Smart entrepreneurs keep ya around after lassoing your attention span.

Successful bloggers make their blogs as sticky as cotton candy covered in fly paper.

Look below; each tip sends readers from one blog post to other blog posts on your domain.

Poverty conscious bloggers work like the dickens to create 20 pieces of content pointing readers nowhere.

Wise bloggers create one piece of content which points to 20 of their blog posts. Imagine how much easier driving traffic becomes if readers see 20 more blog posts to visit right before their very eyes? One blog post pointing to 20 more blog posts frees you from time, location and the work required to write and publish 20, fresh, new blog posts within a short time frame.

Increase blog traffic not by working like a blogging beast.

Boost blog traffic by using what you already have.

Think freedom.

Migrate from scarcity into abundance.

Follow these steps to increase blog traffic without creating new content.

1: Update Old Blog Posts

Every single Blogging From Paradise post on page 1 of Google is updated.

I published these posts from 5-11 years ago. Every 6-12 months, I delete dated content, replace with relevant content and go live.

Google ranks some on page 1 position 1.

Why?

Being current impresses Google. The algorithm needs timely content to retain user trust.

Update old content to get more traffic without publishing new content.

Cull irrelevant content. Add relevant content. Delete dead links. Add credible links. Update. Promote updated content across multiple marketing channels.

Use what you got to get more.

Help readers by remaining relevant.

Update posts every 6-12 months. Depending on the blog post volume, fully updating all posts may require 2-3 months of your time.

Do what you must to remain current.

Be credible be being on the blogging ball.

2: Embed Popular Posts

Embed popular posts.

Drive more traffic with less effort.

Use a plug-in or widget embed.

Peep my sidebar. I list 10 popular posts from Blogging From Paradise Dot Com. Readers made each post popular. New readers scan the list to click through.

Give the readers what they want – without creating new content – to let them give you what you want.

3: Embed Related Posts

Embed related posts.

Use a plug-in or widget embed.

Drive more traffic with less effort.

I embed related posts via a plug-in which populates space below blog posts.

Readers with a hankering for similar content click through to boost blog traffic.

Keep readers onsite. Lower the bounce rate.

Increase traffic by pointing readers to relevant content.

4: Embed Recent Posts

Embed recent posts.

Use a plug-in or widget embed (Sick of hearing this yet?).

Whet the collective appetite by showing recent blogging news.

Give readers a glimpse into current happenings on your blog.

Increase traffic by directing folks to your last few blog posts.

5: Link In

Link to blog posts.

Use what you already have to maximize blog traffic.

Admittedly, I became lazy for a wee bit in this regard. But linking to 3-4 relevant Blogging From Paradise posts over the prior few months increased organic blog traffic.

Pepper in 2-4 inter links for every post published.

Boost traffic without creating new content.

Linking to credible posts boosts Google traffic. The algorithm adores linked posts as an authority-builder. Google wants your blog linking structure to be like a spider web. Happy readers content with your page 1 post greedily click through to more detailed blog posts. Google digs that; as will you, the blogger who increases blog traffic without publishing new content.

The General Line of Thinking

OK guys; after publishing this blog post it goes out into the blogging niche niche to fortify my credibility.

Whether I am:

  • sleeping
  • hiking
  • eating
  • enjoying streaming video
  • doing other blogging work (yes this counts)

readers who consume this post see links or images pointing to:

  • 10 popular blog posts
  • 6 related blog posts
  • 4 posts that I manually linked to

I published 1 post actively which passively points to 20 Blogging From Paradise blog posts.

Tapping the “publish” button offers me 21 post visiting potential while I sleep.

Think about that for a moment.

Technically, I created one new piece of content. But passively the content points you to 20 more Blogging From Paradise posts.

This is how to drive traffic while you sleep.

This is how to drive passive blogging income.

For the purposes of this post, following the above steps for prior published content increases your passive traffic significantly without spending a second creating new content.

Use what you have.
