Content makes your blog go.

Brainstorming blog post ides puts the content creation process into motion.

Sometimes, ideas seem not to flow.

The quickest way to overcome daunting writer’s block is by following simple steps to stimulate your imagination.

I use the tips to write and publish one long-form blog post daily.

If I can do it you can too.

I am not special.

But I do have a system in place to guide you through brainstorming sessions.

Note; the mindset tips below really get your mind buzzing with blog post ideas.

Appeal to your creative mind and brainstorm effectively by following these tips.

1: Listen Closely to Reader Feedback

Listen to your readers.

Spot their grievances.

Tune in to their blogs.

Read blog comments closely.

Monitor social media chats.

Readers bring you a seeming endless flow of ideas for brainstorming.

Pay close attention to their emails.

Note their insights.

Build a list of post ideas based on reader thoughts and feelings.

I read Blogging From Paradise comments closely. Our community leaves clues through comments.

Ditto for my @replies on Twitter and Facebook Group chats.

Listening mindfully to targeted readers opens the blog post idea spigot.

2: Follow Niche Hashtags on Social Media

For example, I follow the #bloggingtips hashtag on:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn

to spot blogging tips bandied about.

If bloggers ask questions or share answers based on that hashtag I pay close attention to ideas that pop up in mind based on those chats.

I set up a #bloggingtips stream to stop by 2-3 times daily. What do bloggers tweet? What do bloggers retweet? What’s on their mind?

I mine post ideas based on the answers to those questions.

3: Observe Facebook Groups and LinkedIn Groups Related to Your Niche

I actively participate in blogging groups on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Ideas flow to me seamlessly based on blogger activity within these groups.

Join groups related to your blogging niche. Engage members. Ask questions. Share answers.

Put your finger on the cyber pulse of groups.

Listen closely to group members to spot blog post ideas for exploring.

My favorite idea-stimulating strategy is to ask blogging questions. After 24 hours I check replies to both respond and record blog post ideas for Blogging From Paradise.

4: Scan Q and A Sites like Reddit and Quora

Reddit and Quora groups aligned with your blogging niche contain a rich list of blog post ideas.

Spot pain points. Observe questions.

Build a list of ideas for brainstorming based on Q and A site groups related to your blogging niche.

Note; I check these sites less frequently because Q and A sites behave like a time-suck for me.  I spend a few moments to grab ideas then exit stage left.

5: Pay Close Attention to Top Bloggers from Your Niche

Top bloggers from your niche serve as an endless source of blog post ideas.

If they cover it you can consider covering it, too.

Note their latest posts.

Brainstorm these ideas to publish similar content.

Never copy top bloggers but spot topics they cover to create like content.

Sometimes I break down one section of their posts for fleshing out into a full Blogging From Paradise blog post.

Stock your Feedly with top blogs from your niche. Follow each closely. Read posts. Take notes. Brainstorm based on their content.

Follow the leaders for smart blog post ideas.

Mindset Tips

OK; we covered some practical tips for brainstorming blog post ideas.

Now we will discuss a few mindset tips for dissolving mental blocks to blog post ideas.

Exercise

Exercising circulates your energy.

Circulating your energy breaks up mental blocks.

Breaking up mental blocks stimulates the flow of blog post ideas.

Walk, jog or run for 30 minutes daily.

Take care of your body, mind and brainstorming issues.

Meditate

Meditate.

Follow your breathing.

Observe your thoughts and feelings until the mind settles down into quiet.

Creating this space removes mental blocks to blog post ideas which then flow in to your mind.

Basically, when you dissolve fear-based mental blocks in stillness, abundance seems to appear. Abundance has always been there, of course.

Tuning in to abundance generates blog post ideas for brainstorming.

Sit for at least 5-10 minutes daily in meditation.

Relax your body and mind.

Become prolific in stillness.

Observe Nature

Nature behaves like a puzzle.

Everything fits together perfectly.

Observing nature plugs you in to that same, perfect puzzle.

For whatever reason, fitting yourself into the nature puzzle stimulates creativity.

You tune in to nature which supplies you with blog post ideas.

Sometimes, bloggers draw analogies between nature and their blogging niche.

Other times, watching nature closely populates your mind with in-demand blog post ideas related to your niche.

Hiking in the forest works best for me.

Peel Open Your Mind

By default, the closed-minded ego seems to call the blogging shots.

Peel open your mind to receive blog post ideas for exploring.

Brainstorming means tossing around ideas.

Suspend judgement.

Open-minded bloggers snag blog post ideas from the ethers seamlessly.

Be flexible.

Even if ideas seem outlandish never stop the flow.

Pick and choose after brainstorming sessions to keep the winners and to let go everything else.

Conclusion

There you have it, folks.

Follow these tips diligently to foster productive blog post idea brainstorming sessions.
