Systems last.
People do not last.
I’ll prove it.
Being a 16 year blogging veteran, a small handful of Blogging From Paradise readers have died. Customers have died. One kind woman who passed on bought a handful of my eBooks; she loved ’em. Imagine if my blogging income depended on her body? How would that work out? Imagine a portion of blogging income vanishing any time a person who supported the income passed on.
Terrible idea.
Now consider the ephemeral nature of people. People change on a whim. Some like you until they hate you. A small collection of mentally injured readers morphed from loyal fans and customers into savage beasts via one social media update. But since I follow a system – not people – I look past them immediately. One of those:
“Don’t let the door hit ya on the ass buddy!”
deals as they aired personal grievances not at all involved with my true helpfulness, although they acted out for my looking past them, ultimately.
People change. Some change businesses. Some go back to working full time and blogging zero time. Some start a family; blogging gets backburnered.
Basing your organic traffic and blogging income on fickle humans is foolish.
Following a blogging system to send an increasing number of readers, customers and referral business builders to you is wise because systems attract the right people at the right time. Systems achieve exponential increase for your blog. Readers keep coming. Customers keep coming. Systems have no bias. Following a system sends new, different, targeted people to you religiously.
What Is a Blogging System?
I frame a blogging system as a series of steps to follow, a process, to stick to for the long haul.
Take this example.
My current Blogging From Paradise System:
- publish one long form post to Blogging From Paradise every 5-7 days (or a wee bit longer between posts)
- publish both long form and short form content to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
I could get into the details of this system but it is not important for the purpose of the post.
My point: my system is content-based. I follow the system by creating content. Content sends organic traffic and blogging income to my blog for me while I sleep, work or circle the globe.
The system “generates” bloggers who want blogging tips. I run a blogging tips blog. Some stick around. Some move on. Irrelevant, because the system of content increases the “generation” exponentially over the months then years.
Do I need to hunch over my inbox to reply to people? No. My system drives an increasing number of highly interested bloggers to Blogging From Paradise Dot Com. The content does the work for me, ya know, like a real entrepreneur who builds assets which free them from time and location.
Do I need to reply to people on social media within 5 minutes? No. My system already answered their questions through my content. People have all the power in the world to use the search bar on my blog to get their answers.
The Real Power of Systems Lost on Most Bloggers
Following a system – like my content-based system – regularly sends new, different, targeted people to your blog like a funnel. Systems detach you from established readers, customers and referral business builders a bit because loyal followers can and do go away for many reasons. Even rabid fans experience the change of life. Detaching from people is the only sane decision because doing so aligns you with the right people, at the right time, who need your content the most.
The system works for you by:
- earning trust
- building a following
- driving business
from an increasing number of highly targeted people who hunger for what you offer.
Every piece of targeted, detailed content is like an employee who works for your blogging company. Content drives organic traffic and blogging income around the clock because it always finds new, different matches for your blog.
That is power.
In a way, this is a “set it and forget it” deal although you need to keep setting by creating content. However, you can forget the outcomes because the traffic and income will keep coming to you based on the system-content.
Freedom Efficient Approach
Bloggers waste years of their lives checking:
- social media replies
- social media messages
to scan for people.
Huge mistake.
Work a non-biased, precise system which sends organic traffic and blogging income to you passively to experience freedom from time and location.
Build an asset that works for you not a job trading time for money, based on being a glorified customer service representative, manning your inboxes for 6 or 8 or 15 hours daily.
How Can I Experience Scotland When Looking at my Inbox?
Currently, I am spending time in Troon, Scotland.
But I could never spend much time on the beach if my blogging business hinged on me sitting inside of the house to stare at my inboxes.
Most bloggers make this mistake; even rich ones. One 7 figure earner sent me messages genuinely asking:
“How in the heck do you build a blogging business while circling the globe Ryan? I have no clue how you do it?!”
From careful observation, I sense he was way too people-focused and not enough system-focused. Like almost every blogger, he glued himself to inboxes to wait on people for business. I prefer to follow a blogging system of creating content which generates organic traffic and blogging income. I can do all the travel stuff while my content works for me.
What If People Get Offended by this Approach?
People are always offended or waiting to get offended at some personal grievance.
Following a blogging system does not change this basic egoic trait of the sleeping mind.
Traditional business advice preaches that every business is a people business.
My content system is a people business; I create content for people to answer questions for people. People who use the search bar on my blog get their answers from a person.
But minds who lack:
- ambition
- drive
- hunger
- fire
- common sense
may ask me a blogging question via inbox or social instead of doing the logical thing of searching my blog for the answer.
Author-Library Analogy
If you had to do research, would you mail an author a letter? Or would you find their phone number and leave a voicemail for them? Would you get pissed off if they did not reply to your letter or voicemail? No….you would not!
You would do the sane thing of going to a library, taking out the book, reading it, taking notes and completing your due diligence.
Blogging From Paradise is the library.
My posts are the books.
My online course and eBooks are the reference materials, the in-depth, premium stuff.
The blogging answers are not in my head or body.
The blogging answers are in my:
- posts
- online course
- eBooks
Now it is your turn to get my answers at your most convenient time and place.
Do you see how mindful I am?
I’m in the people business.
I put the ball in your court.
I give you the power of choice.
Why?
I follow a sound content system.
Conclusion
I am a loving, caring, kind mind who’d rather succeed and be free by following a system which provides passive, 24-7, 365 support for blogging tips hungry bloggers.
Solve a problem before people know they have a problem.
Create a system that offers up content-answers on a silver platter, 24-7, 365, at the convenience of the party seeking solutions.
Systems offer success and freedom to pro bloggers and the right solution at the right time for their readers, customers and clients.
Sounds like a match made in blogging heaven to me.
