I just deleted a lengthy, detailed, generic comment on Blogging From Paradise a few moments ago.
I would have approved this type of blog comment 3 years ago.
I definitely would have approved this comment as a new blogger 15 years ago. Hell; I’d have jumped for joy on receiving such a comment on my old blog.
Current day me knows better.
Tactics Change
Times change. Strategies change. Tactics change.
The advent of AI has motivated some bloggers to use artificial intelligence to generate blog posts, comments and social media updates.
The urge to get something for nothing proves too strong for bloggers who listen to their ego versus trusting the voice of their heart.
This crowd attempts to fully automate the content creation process with mild editing.
However, smart bloggers are on to their tricks.
I deleted the comment because these days no one knows if generic comments are AI-generated or human-written.
I read the comment closely for approximately 3 sentences before deleting. Spotting a generic pattern consistent with AI-generated comment flashed a serious red flag.
Reading AI-generated content in the form of:
- blog posts
- social media updates
- blog comments
conditioned me to spot warning signs.
Why Is this a Problem?
Imagine being an authentic human being who spends 10 minutes reading a blog post and writing a lengthy, detailed, generic blog comment.
Most if not all bloggers assume generic blog comments to be AI-generated even if the comments bleed value. Adding plain-sounding details matters not because AI appears to do that perfectly. Drilling down to write a thorough comment matters not. Doing all the right things to avoid spam folders matters not if you make the mistakes of:
- not adding your name
- not addressing bloggers by name
- not writing informally
- not writing from your heart
- not writing in a conversational tone
If you do a fabulous job but neglect differentiating your comment from AI-generated content the hard, smart, thorough work goes to waste almost every time.
You, my blogging friend, just became a victim of AI-generated content; not because of AI but due to not writing from your heart.
Write Comments from Your Heart
Writing and publishing blog comments from your heart makes comments informal. Publishing informal comments in a conversational tone influences bloggers to fish comments out of spam folders versus instantly deleting such comments.
I deleted the detailed, lengthy comment a few moments ago because it sounded like AI-generated content. I do not risk publishing AI-generated comments on Blogging From Paradise; letting even one through opens the floodgates for more such comments to weasel their way onto my blog.
Even established bloggers who drop generic comments never get the free pass here. I deleted a few generic comments attributed to seasoned veterans because unless one proves a human submitted the comment I cannot approve the comment.
If a human wrote and submitted the comment on BFP he did not do so from his heart. He used solely logic to write and submit a dry comment. Submitting a dry comment lacking a conversational tone motivated me to delete the comment because in most cases such comments are generated by AI.
Write comments from your heart to avoid this problem.
Comment how you chat.
Picture yourself conversing offline. Adopt the same tone for your blog comments.
Take a conversational tone to prove your human nature.
Get comments approved and build strong relationships with fellow humans who appreciate your perspective, bond with you and form collaborative partnerships with you.
Spend a few moments to remember why you comment on blogs.
Remember the Reason Why
Why do you publish comments on blogs?
Tie the reason to a fun, freeing driver for building strong relationships. Comment to establish friendships. Focus on helping people by adding detailed content to their blogs through authentic comments. Imagine yourself having a casual, informal chat with fellow bloggers through comments.
Holding these reasons for commenting in mind influences you to publish genuine, personalized blog comments from the heart. Bloggers never confuse these types of comments with AI-generated comments.
Practical Blog Commenting Tips
Comment to give. Add value through comments to set a strong foundation for your blog commenting campaign.
Personalize comments to stand out from AI. Add personal experiences to comments; AI cannot mimic these experiences.
Commenting with value on the mind is not enough. More than ever, humanizing your blog and brand carries real power with it in a world of skeptical bloggers fed up with glorified bots masquerading as AI.
Now you need to prove that you are a real human being to comment effectively on blogs, let alone to get submitted comments published.
What Motivates Bloggers to Use AI to Generate Comments?
Bloggers use AI to generate comments to:
- save time
- save energy
- get backlinks
- get traffic
- get profits
Read that bullet point list closely.
Notice how each reason centers on the blogger. Observe how none of the reasons seem based on building relationships with fellow bloggers, adding value to their blogs and collaborating with other bloggers for the benefit of both parties.
Commenting to get traffic, income and backlinks compels bloggers to lose the personal touch, to not comment from the heart and to publish generic, plain comments. Using AI to generate such lifeless comments makes sense. Even if AI generates detailed, thorough comments, the lifeless, generic nature of each comment sends all to spam queues.
Using AI to complete detailed tasks like writing posts or publishing comments is a mistake.
More readers spot AI-generated content easily these days.
Once you try to fool a reader or fellow blogger you lost them for good.
Good look trying to build relationships and collaborate after bloggers spot your fraudulent ways and head for the blogging hills.
Conclusion
Comment from the heart.
Submit personalized, detailed blog comments to differentiate yourself from AI.

Generic comments don’t cut it in the age of AI-generated content.
Use the personal touch to step away from the AI blogging crowd and to access the astounding power of making human connections.
