Does your blogging networking campaign feel stale?

Finding new bloggers seems challenging sometimes.

I struggle to find new blogging blood from time to time. Nobody new seems to lurk around Blogging From Paradise during specific stretches. But following the practical tips below draws new bloggers to my blog. I also find new bloggers in spots other than my blog by diligently executing each strategy below.

Why Search for New Bloggers?

Meeting, greeting and befriending new bloggers promotes exponential blogging growth. Imagine 1, 2 or 5 new bloggers discovering your blog daily after you uncover these folks through various online channels. Gaining exposure before prying blogging eyes boosts traffic and profits potential.

But more than any specific outcome, meeting new bloggers simply feels fun, refreshing and quite enjoyable. Blogging done right feels like a party. Meeting new bloggers invites more people to your blogging party. Large, festive parties feel fun to attend because the collective happy energy of fiestas raise our vibe.

Follow these tips to find new bloggers.

Targeted Google Searches

Create a list of popular keywords from your blogging niche.

For example, a blogging tips blogger may choose:

  • blogging
  • blogging tips
  • blog tips

for Google searches.

Query each keyword. Find blogs related to your niche. Connect with new bloggers via this simple method.

Although most bloggers on page 1 or page 2 are known blogging commodities, visiting page 3, page 4 and beyond reveals new bloggers to meet and greet in most cases. Search Google thoroughly. Query a high volume of competitive to semi-competitive keywords. Exhaustively dig deeper into results to uncover new bloggers.

Use:

  • email
  • contact forms
  • blog comments

to build relationships with new bloggers. Finding new bloggers is a worthless venture unless you reach out with a genuine, kind hand. Send an introductory email. Or simply ask how you can help your fellow blogger. Publish a genuine comment. Reach out with a hand out.

Facebook Groups Related to Your Niche

Query competitive keywords aligned with your niche on Facebook.

Scroll down to click on the Groups tab.

Join a few Groups. Become an active member by:

  • answering questions
  • sharing helpful content
  • fostering genuine discussion through authentic engagement

to meet, greet and befriend new bloggers.

Facebook Groups prove to be a fertile meeting space for authentic bloggers who freely engage fellow members. In essence, new bloggers will find you through your generosity. Perhaps you discover new bloggers in groups but your kindness forms bonds leading to fruitful friendships.

Twitter Hashtag Searches Aligned with Your Niche

Query hashtags related to your blogging niche on Twitter.

Scroll through updates to meet new bloggers.

Click links pointing to blogs. Retweet helpful blog posts, using the quote option to add an engaging comment. Publish a helpful comment within the blog post itself to fortify your bond.

Make the @reply button your best buddy on Twitter to both find new bloggers and to organically allow new bloggers to find you. I discovered a few new bloggers engaging me on Twitter this morning, including Marlene, who published a kind comment:

I engage often on Twitter and also publish helpful updates on the platform frequently. Twitter gives you what you give Twitter. Connecting with new bloggers requires a diligent effort on your part but the rewards are worth the work.

Blog Comment Sections Aligned with Your Niche

Find new bloggers via the comments section aligned with your blogging niche.

Engaging commentors are the right bloggers to befriend because chatty individuals tend to help you grow traffic and profits as you do the same for these individuals.

Check out this post for a helpful guide on how to find blogs for commenting:

How to Find Blogs for Commenting and an Effective Comment System to Follow

Before writing and publishing your comment, click through to blogs run by fellow commentors. Comment genuinely on their blogs. Send them an email asking how they are doing. Bond through this engaging medium to meet new bloggers frequently.

Stick to blogs from your niche to meet bloggers highly interested in your blog. Meeting a high volume of disinterested bloggers wastes your time and energy. Target intelligently to network effectively.

Comment Section on Your Blog

Scour your blog comments.

Oddly enough, some bloggers completely overlook new bloggers who publish comments on their blog. Sometimes you do not need to look for new bloggers. New blogging buddies often find you through your:

  • prolific nature
  • genuine blogger outreach campaign

Click commentor blog links, publish genuine comments and email your new blogger buddies asking how they are feeling. Reach out with a warm cyber hand to lay the framework for a strong friendship.

The Most Important Strategy

One can find tens of millions of bloggers in the above spots because:

  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • blogs

serve as meeting places for 2 billion plus human beings, tens of millions of whom, blog.

But the only way to meet new bloggers persistently from this bounty of humanity is by searing these 2 words on your mind:

Go Deep

Going deep means using these strategies:

  • generously
  • patiently
  • persistently

over a long period of time.

If you cannot seem to meet new bloggers on Facebook it is not because 2 billion Facebook users vanished; you simply haven’t chosen to go deep enough into Facebook Groups aligned with your niche. Actively participating in 3-5 Facebook Groups daily for a sustained time reveals a steady stream of new bloggers in your awareness.

New bloggers are out there but the only way to meet them is to work these strategies diligently.

Finding by Being Found

One advanced but powerful blogging strategy involves finding new bloggers by being found through your:

  • prolific nature
  • persistent blogger outreach

For example, 2500 blog posts exist on Blogging From Paradise. Bloggers may find BFP because 2500 BFP blog posts dot the online world. I find these bloggers who seem new to BFP, via their comments, emails and social media interactions.

50,000 plus backlinks point to Blogging From Paradise. Bloggers who find BFP through these 50K links make it easy for me to find them through their comments, emails and social media interactions.

2 Warning Signs

  1. you are not lazy
  2. you do not need to search for more places to find new bloggers

Bloggers mistakenly admit to outreach laziness as being a prime cause of not finding new bloggers. But their mistake is not laziness; it is a lack of awareness.

Most of these bloggers engage in outreach diligently but do not go deep enough to uncover new bloggers. You are not lazy but unaware that searching page 6 of Google results for a semi-competitive keyword reveals a blog yielding 5, 10 or even 20 new bloggers to meet. Do not beat yourself up as some lazy blogger for being unaware of this simple truth. Calmly search a little deeper to become aware of more new blogging buddies, rather than making your job tougher by trying to out race a self-image of being a lazy blogging bum.

Bloggers inaccurately profess how they “tried these strategies but couldn’t find any more new bloggers” and need “new places to find new bloggers” but once again, the high volume of bloggers among 2,000,000,000 Facebook users have not disappeared. I am fairly certain no one who read this post has met 10,000 plus bloggers through Facebook Groups alone. Toss in 10,000 to 20,000 bloggers – and more – waiting for you to meet them through Google and you’ve enough new bloggers to meet during the average human lifespan.

Do not search for more places to meet new bloggers. Search deeper into the few spots where a high volume of bloggers visit daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Find Local Bloggers?

Finding local bloggers can:

  • boost your morale during difficult blogging stretches
  • increase referral business through influencer marketing

The simplest way to find local bloggers is to query:

“bloggers in (insert your location)”

through Google.

For example, I queried:

“bloggers in new jersey”

to find this post on page 1 position 1 of Google:

Top 10 New Jersey Bloggers

Even though meeting and greeting some of these bloggers in my native state could be mutually beneficial, capitalizing on influential partnerships would not work because:

  • most bloggers from the list are fashion and beauty bloggers
  • Blogging From Paradise is a blogging tips blog

Finding local bloggers from your niche seems more challenging but creative strategies can help you pinpoint these individuals.

Ask a Blanket Question Across Social Media

Ask if any bloggers out there from your niche want to meet up.

Publish the question to:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn

Hit hashtags related to your niche to target responses.

For example, I might ask:

“Do any blogging tips bloggers in New Jersey want to meet up? #blogging #bloggingtips #newjerseybloggers #njbloggers”

Any blogging tips bloggers located in New Jersey may follow or query the mentioned hashtags or keywords “blogging tips” or “blogging tips bloggers”.

Ask the question a few times each week. Drop the question once every 3 days to be persistent but detached.

Gradually, local bloggers from your niche who use each site should find you.

Search Facebook Groups for Local Bloggers

Query for blogger groups on Facebook and ask for local bloggers to meet and greet bloggers in your niche.

This approach tends to work for broader searches.

For example, finding a large group of bloggers predominantly from your country and asking for a local blogger meet up seems to be the most effective approach.

Conclusion

Work these strategies persistently.

Find new bloggers to meet and greet.

Wow, Ryan! You are amazing to do this piece so fast after I tweeted you the question 🙂
I’ve been off Facebook personally since January. Long story!

But I’ve found other groups on alternative social networks that have been pretty good and focus on blogs and business.

Twitter has always been the best though lately that too is all about other stuff even using my lists. And the algorithm is not the same there as it once was.

Of course, finding other blogs that have lots of comments helps too. And some forums are great but seems so many older bloggers have gone away and not as many newer ones?

    Thank you!

You are doing a great job on emerging new networks to meet new bloggers Lisa. Older bloggers have largely disappeared, definitely, as have many forums. Good thing we have these other rich sources. Thanks for reading and sharing!

It’s so important to continue to build your network and to discover new bloggers to inspire and motivate you. You grow with the group you build. You all work together and grow. And as you expand your network, you learn so much, and you can help so many others along the way.

The learning aspect of networking freely is vastly underrated, Anthony. Smart add!

    Hi Ryan

These are really great ideas for meeting new bloggers.

And that’s really the lifeline of blogging.

You simply cannot run a blogging business without mingling with other bloggers.

Reading your ideas here, especially the “GO DEEP” suggestion makes me think that finding and interacting with other bloggers is something you have to love doing.

It needs to be enjoyable, refreshing and something you look forward to doing, not needing to drag yourself to the computer to force yourself to do.

Then, blogging is fun and meeting others is a real pleasure… not just a tactic to grow your own blog audience.

Great points all around Donna. I have been going super deep on the guest blogging end of things recently.

Ryan, I totally agree with “Do not search for more places to meet new bloggers. Search deeper into the few spots where a high volume of bloggers visit daily”. I have been down this road before. I tried to search for bloggers on Facebook groups in the past. Most of them are filled up with spammers and I only wasted so much of my time going through all the Facebook groups. I didn’t know you have more than 2500 blog posts. Well done! We have been around for a couple of years and only reached around 70+ blog posts.

Social media is a yellow book of newbie bloggers!

I have found almost all the bloggers on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.

The more important is how to build a connection with bloggers… And we both know how to do it.

    Thanks for the tips!

Good job, Ratnesh. Facebook Groups can be spam-frenzies until you find genuine engagement on a group. From there, being genuine and generous helps you find many new bloggers.
