Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

I have covered this topic in detail in the past.

But it is time to revisit the idea again.

Do you really think big with your blogging campaign?

I fired up this laptop at the airport in Bangkok to write this post quickly before boarding for our next trip. Churning out this post puts more eyeballs on my blogging courses, expands my presence and grows my digital footprint.

I have published daily recently – twice a day for a few weeks – based on thinking big.

Why think small?

Why blog small?

Being patient plays a part in the process. Thinking big does not mean rushing the process. But it does mean blogging from posture to build something special over the long haul.

For example, two more Blogging From Paradise long form posts populate the blogging tips niche daily. Thinking big goaded me to write and publish multiple posts on a daily basis. Each post spans from 1000 to 1200 words. Publishing long form content at a different clip edges me outside of my comfort zone.

Rocking the Blogging Boat

Thinking big rocks the blogging boat.

Some may be annoyed at receiving a higher volume of detailed content, for reasons only the individual knows.

Plus, breaking some commonly held blogging rules pisses off bloggers who teach, preach and hold to specific blogging rules like a toddler affixing a death grip to its rattle.

Be prepared to step on some blogging toes the moment you begin to think big. Bloggers who think small, or inside of the box, may not appreciate someone who breaks the rules to win.

Readers may tire of your bright light. But if anyone rejects your light it is their mindset, not your work, creating resistance.

I wanted to stress this concept for the immense fear I faced over my entire Blogging From Paradise career regarding publishing a high volume of long form content frequently, promoting my blogging courses recently and the general anxiety associated with cheesing people off by testing my blogging limits.

I also deeply feared losing it all the moment I ramped it up for unconscious worthiness issues arising. I grew up in a loving environment but entrepreneurship did not seem to be part and parcel with my childhood. Nor did bold, clear people who spoke their minds, tested the limits and shined uber brightly seem to be appreciated in my surroundings during early years.

Harboring these unconscious beliefs made me think small for vast stretches of my blogging campaign. I pulled back. I pumped the blogging brakes.

That did not work too well for extended stretches because if you hold back it will be held back from you.

Thank goodness I did floor it from time to time to blog with an expanded frame of mind.

Those stretches accelerated my blogging success temporarily but I tended to scamper back into my blogging comfort zone to think a little too small.

What Is Thinking Big Blogging-Wise?

Thinking big is thinking expansively.

For example, instead of publishing one blog post weekly you think about publishing 2-3 posts weekly. Perhaps you want to publish 5 posts weekly. Maybe you decide to publish daily.

Of course, bloggers want most of their posts to be long-form, spanning from 1000 to 1200 words or longer, to satiate readers with detailed content and to appease the Google gods.

Publishing 5 long-form posts weekly is no joke.

Publishing one long-form post daily takes it up another few levels.

Pondering a more ambitious publishing schedule scares most bloggers. At this point, you either shy away from the challenge to think small or embrace the discomfort and think big.

This is just one practical example.

For instance, if you only published 600 word blog posts 2-3 times weekly, thinking big may be pulling back to publish a single, 1500 word blog post weekly.

Every blogger walks a different journey.

We all have different lessons to learn to think big.

Blogging Course Example and Thinking Big

I am currently promoting my online courses freely.

One of my blogging courses for sale is:

How to Get Featured on World Famous Blogs Online Course

After appearing on a series of high level blogs I found that readers wanted to know how to get featured on sites like Forbes and Entrepreneur.

I thought of the idea for a blogging course but feared thinking big enough to actually create and publish an online guide for bloggers to follow my lead.

Creating articles, videos and audio files to lay out the process intimidated me; I had never created a multi-media style blogging course before.

My readers put the final nail in the coffin though with their insistent questions.

I finally decided to create the blogging course even though thinking big rocketed me outside of my comfort zone.

I feel grateful to be able to offer an in-depth guide for stepping you through the process of boosting traffic and income by getting featured on genuinely iconic blogs.

Thinking big may feel exciting but it will not always feel comfortable.

The upsides of experiencing accelerated blogging growth is well worth the uncomfortable decision to think expansively.

Why Think Big?

Pro blogging careers begin with thinking big.

Failed blogging careers begin and end with thinking small.

Is that enough of a sell for you?

Do you want to go pro?

Think big.

Increased scale occurs by thinking and blogging big.

Exponential blogging growth unfolds by thinking big.

Think big!

Act Big Too

Thinking big is the first step to achieving blogging success.

Acting big – or blogging expansively – plays a chief role in the successful blogging process.

Taking big blogging action feels uncomfortable. I felt a wee bit scared bumping up my publishing schedule a little while back.

But growth occurs outside of your comfort zone. No one succeeds by thinking small and acting small even though each sounds enticing to the ego; the ego desires comfort and failure, not discomfort and success.

Acting big still involves taking baby steps toward your big goals since no one cuts blogging corners and succeeds. No blogging shortcuts exist.

For example, I set aside a series of hours daily to write and publish blog posts.

The blog post process involves taking these baby steps:

  • brainstorm blog post ideas
  • build blog post outlines
  • write the posts
  • read and edit the posts
  • format posts for easy reading and scanning
  • add an image to each post
  • publish 1-2 posts daily

I also take the baby steps of:

  • emailing the 1-2 posts to my list
  • promoting each post on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • promoting each post on Facebook Groups and LinkedIn Groups
  • recording a video short and uploading it to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
  • promoting each post on Tumblr, Flipboard and Pocket

Make no mistake about it; baby steps add up to build something impactful.

But everything changes the moment you decide to think big as a blogger.

Conclusion

Think big.

Act big.

Think expansively to build your blog on a foundation appealing to exponential growth.
