Blogging is one of the most powerful ways for an individual to leverage their presence and grow a business online.

Why then do so many aspiring bloggers refuse to dive in with both feet?

I come across folks who see potential freedom in blogging but fear buying their domain and hosting for various reasons.

Do not take this post as a way to convince you to begin blogging. You have free will. Do as you please. Take or leave this advice.

However, listing common errors and dissolving these limiting beliefs may help you see more clearly.

Sometimes, all we need is a little nudge in the right direction to enjoy fun, freedom and happiness.

Do you see these common blogging stumbling blocks dancing around in your mind?

Check out these solutions.

Mentorship

Who do you learn blogging from?

Where do you find trusted mentors?

Before succeeding in any endeavor you and I need to learn how to do it successfully from seasoned professionals. Blogging the right way from day 1 hinges on learning how to blog effectively from a blogging mentor.

Where do you find these folks?

Sources for Blogging Mentors

  • Google “blogging”
  • Google “blogging tips”
  • Scan Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Groups, Quora and Subreddits related to blogging

Choose 5-10 bloggers from this list as possible mentors. Research their blogs closely. Do the individuals publish detailed, in-depth blog content generally focused on creating detailed content and building strong relationships? If so, follow 1-2 of these bloggers closely but almost exclusively through their blogs.

Attempting to follow mentors only through Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Groups, Quora and Subreddits is a bad idea because 10, 20 or 30 pieces of blogging advice – often conflicting – fly at you concerning a single topic, confusing you, befuddling you and forcing you into analysis paralysis.

Use these groups as secondary learning spots.

Follow 1-2 blogging tips mentors only through their blogs to follow 1-2 blogging schools of thought.

Doing this helps you go deep which is a key to becoming a successful blogger.

Going deep means choosing one strategy, leaning it inside-out and applying it exclusively to thrive as a blogger.

Money

Having limited funds appears to handcuff many aspiring bloggers.

However, many solutions to this problem exist to get you up and running with your blogging campaign.

Ideas:

  • get a full time job
  • get a part time job
  • ask friends or family for a loan
  • use your credit card
  • after buying your domain and hosting use only free marketing methods to succeed (this means investing only $200 – $300 or so per year)

Think of it this way guys; if you are not willing to face your fears and follow one of those five suggestions above how can you experience a life of fun and freedom as a professional blogger?

Start by conquering the little fears on the bullet point list above. Secure your initial financial investment to begin blogging effectively.

Conquering the seeming little fears grooms you to conquer the bigger fears awaiting on your blogging journey.

Do you want freedom through blogging?

Train your mind to conquer fears.

Have No Idea Where/How to Start

I had no clue in hell where to start blogging 15 years ago as a beginner.

I had no idea how to begin blogging.

Someone told me to buy a domain and hosting and begin blogging.

I bought the domain and hosting but beginning blogging confused me.

I quickly decided to follow the strategy above for finding a teacher to secure mentorship.

Beyond that approach, I gradually discovered that blogging is:

  • writing and publishing detailed blog posts that solve reader problems
  • building strong relationships with readers and bloggers from your niche
  • opening multiple streams of income

Of course many smaller details go in to fulfilling those steps. Follow blogging mentors for the details.

But if you want to know how and where to start simply repeat these ideas in mind: create, connect, monetize.

Lack Blogging Knowledge

Some bloggers fear beginning for a general lack of blogging knowledge.

Acquire blogging knowledge by investing money in premium resources like:

to receive guidance from your mentors.

Buy premium resources offered by your mentors to get full, robust guides which answer your blogging questions.

Learn from experienced professionals by accessing their richest solutions.

Gain successful blogging knowledge to become confident enough to begin blogging.

Gloom and Doom Blogging Scenarios

A small percentage of folks resist diving in for the fear of blogging being dead.

AI blogging, video popularity and other doom and gloom scenarios scare aspiring bloggers into waiting on the cyber sidelines.

I have blogged since 2008. Over the prior 15 years I have listened to 1000’s of individuals profess that blogging is dead for many different reasons.

Eventually, you learn that scared, unsuccessful entrepreneurs claim that blogging is dead because they fear that creating helpful content and building meaningful connections to succeed is too difficult a task for them. Why not use their fear to scare aspiring entrepreneurs into ditching blogging and joining their online business opportunity?

As long as human beings enjoy reading then blogging is alive and well.

Billions of human beings enjoy reading.

Blogging is not only alive and well but as important as ever.

Online entrepreneurs need one way to grow personalized, humanized businesses in a world of generic, lifeless, AI blogging and manipulated videos. Running a branded, customized WordPress Dot Org blog is the most powerful way to distance yourself from the generic herd and to thrive as an online entrepreneur.

Niche Confusion

Would be bloggers never begin for suffering from niche confusion.

I wrote this blog post to address that concern.

Do what you love.

Pinpoint a pressing problem.

Pare down to a single niche.

Consider niching down if appropriate.

Check out the post above if this niche question bedevils you.

Offline Commitments (School and Job)

Being busy with offline life seems like a challenge.

But if you desire freedom over comfort you will make time to blog.

Blogging effectively for a sustained time frame actually makes life far less busy if you build passive income channels.

Instead of sprinting around like a headless chicken you can make money passively through blogging while peacefully enjoying the freedoms of not living on a set schedule.

Prioritize freedom.

Make time to blog.

Conclusion

Search your mind for these imagined obstacles to blogging.

Apply the solutions.
