I’m sorry to break it to you.
But you do not have billions of dollars to throw around.
Sorry.
You are not on the board of Google nor do you own any aspect of that site.
Bloggers obey the Google algorithm. No one beats it.
But even though you cannot beat the Google algorithm at their game you can win by becoming free of its titanic tendrils.
Here’s how…..
If you cannot beat it just stop relying on it.
Build rock solid relationships with bloggers in your niche.
Believe it or not, the more you help people who blog in your niche the easier it becomes to free yourself of Google.
Why is that?
An increasing volume of your blog traffic and income will flow through blogs run by your buddies, not Google.
Since your blog and those blogs become the source of your traffic and income then you no longer need Google.
Amazing when you really think about it but unfortunately very few human beings actually think. Most of us tend to be unconscious, mindless and do what we’re told to do without actually thinking about it.
I’m not trying to be fresh here. Nor do I condemn anybody because I have certainly done this mindless dance enough in my life.
But challenging your unconscious thought patterns by actually thinking reveals that hundreds of millions of blogs out there are run by human beings. Helping these people without strings attached builds relationships with individuals. Blogging friends point their communities to your blog. Organic traffic and blogging income increase from there.
But How?
Drop genuine comments on blogs from your niche.
Promote other bloggers through your X, Facebook and LinkedIn feeds.
Answer questions when these individuals pepper your inbox with private messages.
Drop genuine comments on social media in response to their updates.
Be a loving human being who serves people.
Why is that so hard to understand?
People become your most precious commodity. Loyal friends buy your stuff, endorse you, drive referral traffic and increase referral business for you.
As they become the source of your traffic and income Google doesn’t. Or if you prefer to work Google in conjunction with building strong relationships feel free to go that route. I’m not against driving Google traffic. Optimize your posts for SEO. Blog abundantly, by all means.
Let Go of Google
I’m writing this post to get into the spirit of becoming psychologically detached from Google. I’m also writing this post to get in the spirit of helping human beings because it feels fun. Being truly helpful indirectly leverages your blog. Imagine what it will feel like when five, ten or twenty fellow bloggers promote your blog through their marketing arms around the clock. That’s a lot of people with their eyeballs on your blog, folks.
Since most of these bloggers will be in your niche this is what we call highly targeted blog traffic. People not Google become a co-source for success. No manipulative algorithm games. No politics. No narratives.
The whole idea is to gradually wean yourself off of Google. If their algorithm changes then who cares? Many bloggers took a big hit when Google prioritized AI results but that wouldn’t be the case if they followed my advice above years ago, would it?
Without obnoxiously saying “I told you so”, I drop warnings years before less discerning bloggers actually think about this stuff. Unless we have a zombie apocalypse – in that case you will be dead anyway – this strategy is foolproof because humans will be around.
Some come and some go. Never become psychologically attached to any individual. But keep building your tribe to drive traffic and income through the loving support of your blogging buddies. Support them. Most will support you organically because they appreciate your goodwill and detailed, practical content.
Being Generous Attracts Success
My inbox is littered with spam by strangers who try to use things to get strangers to do things for them. Struggles follow; cyber doors close in their face.
But when I woke up today I had seven more genuine, detailed comments on Blogging From Paradise Dot Com. I didn’t have to pester anybody to generate these comments. My friends help me because I help them.
Google is completely out of my sphere because sharing detailed content and making friends makes Google largely if not completely irrelevant to you and your blog.
Imagine what it would feel like the next time the big G changes the algorithm and you could care less? What would it feel like if your traffic and income was spread among 20, 30 or 50 blogs run by close friends or friendly acquaintances?
Wouldn’t that be a much better feeling than depending on one thing run by billionaires solely driven by their agenda?
I’m not mad at these people. Everybody has to make a living. Now that the ante has been upped maybe these folks want to become trillionaires too. That’s cool. But I could care less.
People Fuel My Success
Human beings fuel my success.
Helping bloggers with my content sets the table.
Promoting and engaging bloggers from my niche puts everything into motion.
The amazing aspect of the strategy is that I’m not so much dependent on them. Helpful friends want to help you. You don’t have to bend over backwards for them because each wants to help you organically from the kindness of their heart. You help them and they help you. Foolproof strategy. Bulletproof, really, because the zombie apocalypse doesn’t appear to be coming soon.
Keep publishing truly helpful content.
Keep helping bloggers with no strings attached.
Engage your friends on social media and through email.
Play genuine blog commenting ping pong. Hop back and forth between each other’s blogs to amplify your success. Every comment is user generated content. Remember that before you close comments quickly. Spam can be annoying to deal with but receiving a study volume of detailed comments to build relationships, to lower your bounce rate and to boost organic traffic tastes sweet.
Plus you’ll be migrating away from the highly unstable Google model especially in this era of artificial intelligence.
