Do You Need to Stop Holding Back with Your Blogging Campaign?

London, UK

I finally decided that the simplest way to succeed may feel quite uncomfortable in moments but perfectly sums up the topic of this blog post.

Dictating these words late at night on the outskirts of London pushes me a little bit outside of my comfort zone because I choose not to hold back with my blog.

You probably have noticed this by observing my publishing schedule as of late. I don’t want to make any promises but intend to publish one blog post daily at least.

I actually want to publish both quality posts at a quantity clip in the short term. As I gain momentum I may just do this over the long haul. Most bloggers advise against this strategy (picking quality over quantity versus both because it feels impossible to pick both) but not holding back anymore plus 15 years of blogging under my belt gives me ample experience and drive to get the job done.

I intend never to hold back with my blogging campaign again. Are you with me? Do you want to be on board?

Refusing to hold back is the quickest way to accelerate your blogging success.

But the blogging journey is never quick and not holding back rockets you outside of your comfort zone.

You Can Do It But Need to Patiently Develop Your Skills

Not holding back for me means writing a high volume of long form blog posts daily.

I publish 1-2 daily and schedule the rest.

Practicing my writing for a long time gave me skills enough to be able to write 3, 4 or 5 long form blog posts daily.

As a beginner blogger you will have to baby step your way to becoming prolific because it takes time, practice and patience to publish a high volume of long form blog posts. No one succeeds overnight. No one becomes skilled over night.

But being patient does not give you a pass to hold back.

Not holding back as a newbie may mean writing and publishing one post weekly. Perhaps this means reading and commenting on 5 blog posts daily.

Whatever the version of letting it ride is for you, the important thing is to replace egoic ambition with a deep desire to be truly helpful at a level of scale. Making this shift moves the focus from your personal goals to something bigger than yourself.

Focus on Helping People

Focus on helping people to find the extra gear lost on egocentric bloggers who hold back for some intimately personal fear in mind.

Think outward versus inward. How can you serve people? How can you best use your blogging talents? What can you do now to scale? How can you reach as many targeted people as possible with your next blogging act?

For example, any blogger can optimize a long form blog post but few do for most hold back. Some seem lazy. Others fear wasting time. Others fear wasting energy. All bloggers who hold back lack the mindfulness to do a smashing job now to reach as many targeted people as possible with heavy leveraging in mind.

Be helpful. Think beyond yourself to let go your true blogging power.

Marvel Analogies

I watched Captain Marvel earlier this evening.

Spoiler alert; I plan to give away the main plot of the movie. Look away if you want to be surprised.

The main character had her memory wiped of the fact that she had the most powerful energy force in the universe flowing through her veins. She eventually faces her fears, wakes up and unleashes her true, virtually unlimited power as a force for good.

In one telling moment, Captain Marvel professes how she had been fighting with one arm tied behind her back. Most bloggers can relate. The masses seem to blog with one hand tied behind their back by holding back due to fears, following strict rules closely and boxing themselves in.

In another Marvel movie, Dark Phoenix, Jean Grey suppressed her incredible powers for years since she feared hurting people.

During the film’s climax, Professor X yells for her to unleash her power. She lets go to defeat a most powerful foe by unleashing a power the world had never seen.

Both Jean Grey and Carol Danvers decided not to hold back their true power in singular moments to be driving forces for good.

Are you willing to unleash your true blogging power right now?

Does letting go and letting it ride scare you?

Don’t worry; this feeling is normal.

Ramping Up My Publishing Schedule

The moment I intuitively felt guided to publish one long form post daily a few egoic fears surfaced in my mind:

  • I feared publishing too much helpful content
  • I feared bogging down my server with a heavy volume of content
  • I feared blowing out my email list
  • I feared running out of ideas

The moment I chose not to hold back I seemed reminded of all the fears that seemed to reasonably hold me back.

Accept this as par for the course. The moment you decide to release your true blogging power the reasons for not formerly letting it go knock on your mind’s door.

Proceed through discomfort.

Let go your blogging power.

Beware of Strictly Following Rules

Blog post quality over quantity.

Publish one post weekly.

Optimize every post for SEO.

Build a big email list.

Following each commonly held rule above closely positions you to succeed but also carries a dangerous side effect; robotic blogging.

No one unleashes their full blogging power thinking robotically because intuitive guidance accesses unlimited power. Robotic, egoic guidance rests in fear, restricts you, goads you to hold back and mutes your blogging success.

Intuitive guidance is loved-based and gives all to all because it thinks about the whole. Trusting this voice guides you to never hold back through the simple act of unleashing your blogging power.

Follow some basic blogging rules but be flexible to develop the habit of unleashing your blogging power.

Conclusion

Be a force for blogging good.

Do not hold back.

Release your blogging power.

Let’s do this together guys.

I was watching Captain America in a Marvel movie blitz last night 😉

I noticed your increased writing, Ryan. It was nice to read this particular post and learn your motivation behind it. And as always, you open my eyes. Robotic blogging doesn’t work. We want to read words written by a human. Thinking about it, that’s why I keep coming back to your blog too, because each post is ‘you’. I think it’s that human element that makes your blog so successful and enjoyable to read.

Likewise Morris. I love your authentic writing style; you add the human touch to all that you do online.

Thank you Ryan, I’m working on it. As a beginner, I was much too robotic before it finally started to ‘click’.
