Koh Lanta Thailand
Every time I open Facebook I see another blogger noting one current trend.
You cannot escape it. The world pushes this scenario down your blogging gullet at every chance.
Firing up X tells a similar story. Scanning your stream reveals it.
Blue Sky, LinkedIn and YouTube back up my claims. I see it all over the place in the blogging tips niche.
Like it or not, the trend appears to be here for a while.
The trend is odd.
I want to point this out not to condemn anyone but to correct a common blogging error.
Erring in this regard creates plenty of blogging heartache.
Mindset Is Everything
I wrote and sell an eBook on creating the mindset of a successful blogger.
Why?
Strange stuff occurs in the human mind. Weird stuff surfaces.
Being unaware of the mind compels you to struggle, fail then quit. Why? You had no idea that the process occurred in the mind before manifesting in the world.
One odd mental trend afflicts human beings now.
Bloggers try to impress artificial intelligence as if it were a real human being.
I think there is nothing wrong with this trend. But it is weird. The trend is weird since artificial intelligence is not a genuine, living, breathing human being. People are readers. Readers are people. AI potentially channels humans to humans as Google sends humans to humans. I get that.
But struggles arise if you lose sight of helping readers. Readers are human beings. Communication channels are avenues not readers. Bloggers who blog for AI make a grave error. Confusing channels for people mucks things up because non-sentient communication streams cannot read content, trust content, buy stuff or drive referral income through blogging. People do things. Things are just things.
Writing only for things makes content sound robotic. People are not robots. Humans look past stiff-feeling content for its awkwardness. Who trusts a blogging cyborg?
Successful bloggers stand out by being genuine.
Sounding robotic influences readers to look past your blog.
Never Confuse Communication Channels with Human Beings
Would you blog for a phone?
Do you consider it sane to blog for a phone?
Right now, would you try to impress Facebook? FB is a channel for communication like a phone. How about email? Do you try to impress Gmail? Do you want Gmail to look upon you with favor? Why? Things are things. Things cannot do anything. Never blog for a thing. You will spin your blogging wheels. Things cannot think, feel or act in any way. Stop blogging for things that cannot think, feel or act.
I do not enjoy shining the spotlight on murky mental waters. But who will cover these topics if I do not? I am a blogging tips guy. I am the Blogging From Paradise Guy. I share blogging mindset tips. I also delve into practical blogging strategies.
Why do human beings look past human beings to write for things?
Monkey see, monkey do.
That’s why.
Peep the herd mentality in full effect.
People Mindlessly Follow People without Thinking…..Wait a Sec….Why the Hell Am I Doing This?
Likely, this is one of the lengthier H2 headers you will see.
But am I wrong?
Who thinks deeply about blogging guidance before trusting counsel?
Sometimes I do not. Guilty as charged.
Sometimes I do.
You forget about writing for humans to appease a non-sentient thing but to reach humans, eventually. Google and AI appear to send humans to your blog. But I said “appear” because human beings query Google to yield results. Take humans out of the equation. Google becomes irrelevant.
Stop blogging for a thing to reach humans.
I have a better solution for thinkers out there.
Write for human beings. Cut out the middle man. Cut out AI search. Cut out Google search.
Write a clear, helpful blog post filled with practical steps walking readers from a problem to a solution. Format the post for easy scanning. Use headers. Write short sentences. Chop up the post into Paragraph City. Guns reference. Why not? I’m in Mill Valley, California now, once a musical center of the world.
Rank Consistently by Writing for Human Beings
Write thorough content to rank on:
- AI platforms
- X
- Blue Sky
or wherever human beings query terms to solve problems.
Visualize your ideal reader.
Write to solve this person’s specific problems.
Cover one niche.
Develop topical authority.
Never write for AI. Never try to impress AI. AI is no-thing. People are everything.
What About Optimization?
Optimize posts by:
- thinking like a human being who consumes content online
- learning details for specific channels
Learn optimizing basics for Google and AI search.
Prioritize thinking, feeling and consuming content online like a normal human being.
Think like someone who reads blog content to write for someone who reads blog content. Consider this inner shift to be THE optimization strategy of strategies.
I will give you an example.
Consider this Annoyance
Every person knows how annoying it feels to read a run-on paragraph. Who patiently scrolls through such silliness on their phones? No one, that’s who. Close browser. The bounce rate skyrockets.
Thinking like a content consumer, you automatically chop up and format blog posts into easy to scan content. Doing this satisfies Google, AI search and all online channels organically. Did you need to know specific algorithm rules for marketing channels to write for humans? Hell no. You wrote a blog post for human beings based on how human beings consume content on phones, thinking like a person-consumer as you:
- chopped up a blog post into paragraphs for easy reading
- dropped H2 and H3 headers into a blog post as if each were going out of style
- crafted short, punchy sentences
- used ample white space to highlight the star of the post: content
- embedded a pretty picture knowing how people think in images (eye candy)
I think about how to make people happy.
I do not think about how to make AI happy because AI does not really exist. AI appears to be out there in the world but artificial is not real, is it? Humans are not artificial. Humans are real. Bloggers who write for humans do well online. Bloggers who write for artificial things disappear sooner than later.
Conclusion
Write for people.
Perceive things as bridges between your content and readers.
Blogging is serving content to people.
