Perhaps my toughest blogging lesson to learn involves facing, feeling and releasing fears fueling obstacles I create in my mind.
My toughest lesson IS hugging the truth that ALL blogging obstacles exist solely in your mind.
I know this sounds crazy at first. But listening closely reveals how what you think and feel about life begins and ends in your mind.
Everything begins and ends in your mind. How you think and feel about Google algorithm updates is in your mind. What you think about a non-paying client is in your mind. What you think about your email list is in your mind.
What you think about blogging – empowering and limiting beliefs both – is in your mind.
Everything begins in your mind.
Blogging obstacles begin in your mind and also end in your mind if you feel fears fueling obstacles.
Go Within to Observe Your Mind
Makes sense, right? Sure it does, right up until the moment some obstacle appears to pop up.
Everything makes sense until a client decides not to pay your fee. For most, fear triggers at this point.
I recall this happening a few times during my blogging career. Non-paying clients refused to send me payment even after a few reminders. Instead of thinking and feeling the non-payment to be an obstacle, in my mind, I let go non-paying clients because any effort on my part to collect beyond one follow up would reflect the fear of money loss in my mind.
I did not chase the clients. Nor did I threaten any of them. I did not see the appearance of money loss as an obstacle in my mind because I chose to let go the poverty conscious actions of a few to allow in greater profits, increased business and prompt-paying clients.
Radical strategy, right? Most harbor a fear of money loss in the mind projected onto clients who do not pay promptly. Projecting this fear motivates bloggers to threaten clients for payment due. Perhaps bloggers chase delinquent clients. Even lawsuits tend to be bandied around from time to time based on a worldly heavy tab.
Pursuing each avenue is not wrong or right. Considering each option just reveals a deep fear of loss in mind. The problem is always in the mind of the blogger who typically projects the problem onto the world.
Everything is in your mind.
If not, everyone would think the same about everything. Everyone would rage at a delinquent client, tremble at a Google algorithm update and worry about a lack of business if the problems were “out there” and not in your mind.
Why?
If the blogging problems were “out there” in the world then the problems would be true, or real. However, logic dictates that different bloggers frame experiences differently because each thinks differently. Thinking differently means that the issue is in the mind, not in the world out there.
Of course, you and I tend to be bombarded with problems that seem to be out there. Sometimes, you and I teach that the problems are out there; that is OK as long as we live in the world and try our best not to see ourselves as victims. Ultimately though, the problem is in the mind because some bloggers see a problem in their mind and others see an opportunity for growth in their mind.
All depends on the different mindsets of different bloggers.
Figment of Imagination Appearing to Be Real
Every blogging problem you experience is a figment of your imagination solely because you imagine the obstacle. The obstacle does not exist until you created the obstacle with your thoughts and feelings.
Think about it; imagine if you appear to suffer from a traffic problem. Nothing seems to work; numbers remain low. However, low numbers just reflect fear in your mind. Fears in your mind involve the fear of guest posting, the fear of engaging in a genuine blog commenting campaign and the fear of networking. Facing, feeling and releasing each fear in your mind solves your traffic problem.
After feeling each fear you begin guest posting, genuine blog commenting and networking, ending your traffic problems. Do you see how the obstacle began and ended in your mind?
Across the board, facing fear solves your blogging problems manifest as seeming obstacles. Simply face, feel and release fears to find solutions to obstacles. Of course, expect to take some action to dissolve obstacles. Releasing fears opens you up to actions to be taken to officially conquer blogging obstacles but usually at a slow, steady pace.
Why?
Facing, feeling and releasing fear feels quite uncomfortable. No one takes a quantum leap through this process. Most baby step their way through the process to reveal that all problems are inner problems.
Be Patient
No one obliterates a blogging traffic issue in 5 minutes or 5 days but slight progress can be made the second you face, feel and release fears in you mind. Everything depends on your intent. Conquering blogging obstacles from the inside-out feels uncomfortable at first but becomes easier if you take daily steps to master your mind. I prefer meditating and doing various types of yoga. Do what vibes with you.
Patient observation is your goal. Watching your mind project fear to create obstacles is the way.
Owning your fears versus projecting each onto the world as a problem takes practice and persistence in spotting issues. Seeing one’s self as a victim to outside circumstances seems to be a blogging past time. I can almost imagine Google slapping the handcuffs on bloggers who bemoan their traffic loss after an algorithm shakeout. What’s really happening involves a blogger receiving the opportunity to face and forgive a fear in the mind to shed a victim mentality, to publish more through, rich content and to gradually drive increased Google traffic.
Avoid Blaming People or Things
Take the key step of ceasing to blame anyone or anything for your blogging obstacles. Stop blaming obstacles or the source of blogging obstacles for your problems because every obstacle or source of obstacles is fear in your mind. Own this simple truth to overcome obstacles quickly.
Stop feeling like you are held captive by blogging obstacles. All begins and ends in your mind. Conquer your mind by being self aware. Observe thoughts and feelings in your mind feeding obstacles.
Accelerate your blogging success by defeating obstacles from the inside-out.
