Being free from time and location hinges on leveraging.

Converting one piece of content into many forms of content expands your reach quickly.

Professional bloggers repurpose content to be all over their blogging niche.

Visualize a spider web snaring the attention span of your ideal reader. Go far and wide to “catch” people highly intrigued with your blog topic.

Turn snippets from one blog post into 5 or 10 pieces of content distributed along multiple channels.

Create the illusion of being omnipresent by using what you have.

Stop Reinventing Yourself

I suffered from blogging burnout for a bit.

I tried to create fresh, new content every time I published something to social media.

Being prolific has its benefits. But being realistically strategic is the end goal.

Think like a thriving entrepreneur not a starving artist. Entrepreneurs leverage to convert their creations into dozens of more creations. Starving artists slam into mental blocks by attempting to create something new every time out.

Stop struggling to find inspiration.

Use what you already have to get more.

That makes sense, doesn’t it?

Build content-assets based on your original content-assets: long form blog posts.

Why Repurpose?

Time is scarce.

Content is not.

Time continually expires.

But a single, long-form post can mushroom into 30 social media updates over a few hours. Of course, you do the mushrooming by patiently repurposing content. But 31 pieces of strategic content performs better than a single blog post.

No blog is an island. Something needs to bridge the gap between your blog and the outside world.

Repurposing blog posts creates the spider web effect I mentioned before.

Imagine investing 3 hours towards writing and publishing one long form blog post.

Repurposing content from that post sends traffic from X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and Instagram to the post without creating fresh, new content to reach that goal.

Entrepreneurs think this way.

Business owners squeeze sweet, precious content nectar from blog posts by repurposing content into a heavy volume of highly-targeted content for readers.

I reach only so many people directly through my blog. But converting a paragraph here and there to social media content taps into a user base of billions who previously had no clue in Hades that Blogging From Paradise existed. I used what I already created to amplify my reach.

Steps to Take Before Repurposing Blog Content

Never dive into blog repurposing all willy nilly.

Follow a strategic approach to get maximum bang for your repurposing buck.

Find your best performing blog posts. Observe metrics.

Gauge:

  • traffic
  • comments
  • social media popularity
  • page 1 posts on Google

among other statistics.

Work with these posts.

Give readers what they want.

Convert proven content.

Hit the mark.

One of my favorite strategies involves scanning the 10 most popular posts on Blogging From Paradise Dot Com (viewable on my sidebar).

I vivisect a popular post with specific goals in mind.

Think about the end game. What do you wish to achieve with the content?

Consider audience preferences.

Our community prefers text-based content and videos. Infographics and podcasts never hit the mark here; notice their exclusion from the list below.

Convert what your readers want in terms of format.

Pinpoint specific blogging goals to reach your desired end.

For example, I noticed how adding the #bloggingtips hashtag to some respurposed posts ranked the X stream for said tag on page 1 of Google for a short stretch. I dominated that stream back then. Ample readers hungry for blogging tips found my blog through this strategic repurposing approach.

1: Convert Snippets to Social Media Content

My favorite leveraging strategy is copying and pasting snippets to:

  • X
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Threads
  • Instagram

Snag one or two practical tips from blog posts. Make each actionable; readers desire what benefits them.

Baby step folks from problem to solution by expanding on these thoughts.

Sometimes I straight copy and paste 1 or 2 sentences. But usually I grab a paragraph then add content to make my point.

Do what works for you and your readers.

Note what performs best on each network.

Pay attention to the algorithm; it never lies.

Short and punchy works well on X. Facebook and LinkedIn favor thorough content. Threads finds its midpoint between long form and short form. As for Instagram, I link it to Facebook. Detailed updates gain traction over there.

Add images to Facebook and LinkedIn posts as text-only content generates scant engagement on these platforms.

Repurpose blog content for billions.

Convert practical tips from your blog to social media snippets to expand your reach far and wide.

2: Create Various Video Types Based on Snippets

Snag a blog post title.

Publish a:

  • live broadcast
  • reel
  • short
  • long form video

based on the topic.

I prefer to distribute video through multiple mediums because readers possess different preferences. Some enjoy following a live broadcast for a real time feel. Others want short and sweet reels to get information quickly. Yet others dig long form videos for consuming information.

Share videos to:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Threads
  • Instagram

Be seen far and wide.

Appeal to visually-inclined readers.

Be sensitive to people. People readers want people bloggers for guides. Humans know what everyone goes through because people went through similar circumstances.

Shoot selfie-style videos. Prove that you are human. Display your humanity. Show readers that your blog is not just words on a screen. Genuine human beings craft these words from compassion. Compassionate bloggers know your struggles; everyone in this world has been there.

Use video to leverage and humanize your blogging strategy.

3: Publish LinkedIn Lead In’s

I copy and paste the first few paragraphs of blog posts to a LinkedIn article.

I then link to the post on Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.

Exhibit A: Blogging Your Passion

I found the above article on page 2 of Google. At least a few of my LinkedIn articles rank on page 1 of the search engine giant. For whatever reason, even these short and sweet content forms carry some juice on Google.

Embed a clear image.

Share the article to your profile if not multiple targeted groups on LinkedIn.

Leverage the largest network for professionals to drive blog traffic.

Admittedly, I became lazy in this regard recently.

Consider myself cured.

Going forward, I will follow this simple approach to both leverage and drive Google traffic.

The algorithm over there on LI carries magical Google powers. I know not how they did it……but my LinkedIn articles pop up on page 1 steadily.

4: Publish a Beefy Newsletter

Copy and paste a few paragraphs from a top-performing evergreen post to your newsletter.

Flesh out content to publish a beefy offering.

Every blogger obsesses over sending subscribers from email to their blog.

Why not repurpose blog content to add more punch to the newsletter?

Clicks take a back seat to branding with this approach. Highly-detailed newsletters make a firm impression on loyal subscribers.

Give email subs greater depth to become memorable.

Make your blog content work for you through perhaps the most convenient medium.

Pretty much everyone online checks one or more email inboxes daily.

A smaller demographic addictive-style scours over their inboxes 20, 50 or 100 times daily.

I never intend to feed their addiction.

But capitalizing on this unfortunate habit does yield value for them……and success, for your leveraging campaign and overall blogging career.

Conclusion

Save time and energy.

Repurpose blog posts.

Reach new, targeted audiences by making your content work for you.
