Full time bloggers gain credibility through their writing more than any other factor.
Pros write skillfully to gain reader trust.
Trusting readers:
- follow blogs loyally
- become customers
- become clients
Writing well puts the business-building process into motion.
Writing confidently requires a commitment. This talent never came naturally to me. I devoted significant time and energy to churn out helpful content with clarity.
If I’m being honest, at the beginning of my blogging career I gave up in tears after writing 300 words. Yep; I struggled that mightily.
But I eventually wrote confidently enough to self-publish eBooks.
Putting in the time brings you great blogging rewards over the long haul.
Treat writing seriously. Commit to being a clear, confident blogger by enhancing your writing game.
Become a full time blogger by following these writing tips.
1: Write Daily for Practice
Write 500-1000 words daily.
Develop the prime skill for becoming a successful blogger.
Write like the dickens to become confident. Get clear on your writing style. Draw quality traffic through your quality writing.
Practice writing daily to become a professional blogger.
Write either online or offline. Writing offline in a Word document instills a sense of detachment about your work. Trash the document after finishing your daily writing practice to let go psychological attachments to the work. Practice in private to shine in public.
Practice writing online by creating blog posts, submitting comments and engaging on social media.
Write diligently every day.
Full time bloggers earn income by gaining trust. Polish your writing skills to influence readers to trust your blog.
Loyal readers impressed with your writing style gladly boost your referral business, in addition to being brand advocates, customers and clients.
2: Publish Long Form Posts Frequently
Publish long form posts spanning 1200 plus words.
Tapping the “publish” button creates a surge of writing confidence.
Full time bloggers write with clarity. Publishing blog posts for public consumption boosts both confidence and clarity.
Share your work for public consumption. Surrender self-conscious fears. Leave the fear of criticism in the dust.
Put yourself out there. Publish blog posts regularly to gain the self-trust necessary to go pro.
At the end of the day, full time bloggers evolve into skilled writers who publish business-building posts frequently.
Write and publish blog posts to believe deeply in yourself, your writing skills, your blog and your blogging business.
What Should Be Your Blog Post Frequency?
New bloggers; write and publish one post weekly if this feels like a realistic goal. Do not stretch too far as a beginner. Work within the realm of honest expectations.
Publish once every 2 weeks in the beginning at a minimum to gain writing confidence. Send your work out there for the public; believe more deeply in yourself and your writing.
Intermediate to advanced bloggers can publish 1-2 long form posts weekly, or more. Edge outside of your writing comfort zone to set the tone for a professional blogging career.
My Frequency
As of this post publish date, I pumped the brakes on publishing daily after a blog post blitz over the prior few months.
Now I feel the intuitive urge to highly optimize all blog posts in addition to sharing posts across a broader range of highly targeted spots.
I decided to publish weekly posts on Blogging From Paradise to also give you enough time and energy for sifting back through old posts, to check out my blogging courses and blogging eBooks and to devote more time to your blogging campaign.
3: Get Comfortable with Your Writing Voice
Accept your writing voice.
Find your writing style then seize it with clarity to become a skilled, professional blogger.
Full time bloggers write in their authentic voice. Note how top pros distinguish themselves from all other bloggers. Write in your voice to separate yourself with the “it” factor to go pro.
Stand out from the blogging crowd. Pinpoint your writing style. Is it casual? Or do you write formally? Do you inject humor into your work?
Allow your writing voice to surface through patient writing practice.
Own your voice and make it work for you, all the way to a professional blogging career.
My Writing Experience
Writing for quite a bit helped me get clear on my writing voice.
Expect your voice to morph deeper into your blogging career. I evolved from formal into informal writer based on intuitive nudges.
Practice writing for the long haul. Hug your writing style as it comes into form. Make it work for you to run a genuine blog and to go full time.
Do your best not to copy anyone. I read recently how reader feedback alerted a pro blogger to his parroting ways. His readers told him that he sounded like another established pro; this was not a good thing.
Receiving that feedback goaded the blogger to embrace his own writing voice, Subsequently, he carved out his blogging niche patiently and thrived by blogging from his heart.
4: Write and Sell eBooks to Enhance Your Blogging Brand
Write, self-publish and sell eBooks.
Solidify your blogging brand and business by selling eBooks.
Self-publishing rich eBook resources bolsters your writing credibility. Most experienced bloggers seamlessly write and publish a 1200 word blog post. Not many bloggers write and self-publish a 10,000 plus word, detailed, authority-building eBook.
Full time bloggers often sell eBooks to gain trust and to boost passive income. Writing and selling eBooks can help your full time blogging career by adding a trusted income stream to your blogging arsenal.
Writing long form blog posts becomes easy after you’ve written and self-published eBooks many 1000’s of words in length.
After running a writing marathon it feels easy to run a short sprint. That’s the basic idea.
Self-Publishing Tips
I currently sell Blogging From Paradise eBooks through Gumroad.
Writing, self-publishing and selling eBooks feels fun because being helpful and earning passive income proves to be a win-win for bloggers and eBook customers.
Cover topics to solve common reader problems. I picked each title based on issues Blogging From Paradise readers bandied about in the comments section, on social media or in my email inbox. Each spoke. I listened and turned the solution to their problem into a full length eBook.
Aim for 8000, to 12,000 word, full PDF guides to offer full resources for readers.
Pick an easy to understand eBook title. Set up an outline. List eBook chapters. Drill down by dividing each chapter into sections and subsections. Writing an eBook flows smoothly by dividing chapters into many detailed sections.
Expand on these sections to form the meat of your eBook.
Keep things practical. Give eBook customers something to read, use and benefit from seamlessly.
Promote eBooks freely to increase sales.
Open a steady passive income channel through writing, self-publishing and selling eBooks.
5: Train Your Mind to Reach the Next Writing Level
Train your mind to conquer common writing mental blocks.
Dissolve these limiting beliefs to lay a solid foundation for a full time blogging career.
Overcome self-doubt by digging deeper into your mind. Observe your mind as it is. Spot fears related to writing, blogging and running a business online.
Spend time in quiet to heighten your powers of observation. Meditate or do yoga to quiet the mind.
Strengthen your mental muscle daily. Give yourself 20 minutes or more to watch your mind and its various writing machinations.
Be prolific by weeding out fears fueling writing mental blocks.
Common Writing Mental Blocks
You probably know some of the writing mental block “hits” like:
- “Nobody will read my work, anyway.”
- “Why bother to practice writing? I’m sure that readers will criticize my work no matter what and practicing is just a waste of time.”
- “Who the heck would buy an eBook written and self-published by little old me?”
Training your mind allows you to unearth, feel and release these limiting beliefs.
Shedding these mental handcuffs allows you to proceed to sharpen your writing skills.

Follow these writing tips.
Position yourself to become a full time blogger.
