As you guys know, for whatever reason, odd, bizarre, humorous or outright one of a kind experiences seem to find me as I circle the globe.
From Kelli and I having a particularly vivid encounter with Sasquatch, to meeting exotic animals in remote areas (and equally exotic humans in urban settings), we routinely enjoy “out of pattern” experiences.
Well…I have one more to add to my repertoire……
I assumed Satan himself had just barreled down the street here in London.
A beastly bellowing traveled down the canyon between buildings prior to midnight.
What could it be?
I had already seen a:
- Ford GT
- Lamborghini Urus
- Rolls Royce Phanton
- Rolls Royce Cullinan
on this short stretch of road over the past few days.
Peering down from the window I saw perhaps the #1 hypercar on planet earth:
a $6.5 million 1340 HP Koenigsegg One: 1
This is one of seven Koenigsegg One: 1 cars in the world.
Hence the blog post.
The One:
- reaches a top speed of 273 MPH
- goes from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds
- goes from 0-250 in 20 seconds
- carries a $6.5 million USD price tag
- boasts 1340 HP
Genuinely, it is one of the few cars on earth that really is one of a kind.
Think about the average supercar sporting 300-400 HP. Anyone who’s ridden in such cars knows the force, power and pull of a ride topping out at 400 HP.
Imagine that experience times 3.
Imagine a 400 HP pull from a dead stop times 3 for a 1340 HP blast-off from zero.
I used to clean out the old BMW 323i when I owned one 20 years ago on remote sections of road at 3 AM sometimes. Driving 125 MPH felt exhilarating. How about doing twice that speed plus 20 MPH?
The sensations boggle the mind.
I will tell you this; when he casually gave it some gas on the exit I felt my body vibrate a little bit. This was with me being 2 stories up from the street roughly 80 yards from the car.

I filmed the take off here:
Savage Acceleration Koenigsegg One:1 in London
Carbon Fiber Beauty
On first impression, the carbon fiber casing looks cheap because it is so light. Mere mortals who drive normal cars seem accustomed to hard, cheap plastic interiors.
The Koenigsegg One: 1 is a carbon fiber car.
Built for brutal acceleration and mind-bending top speed, the thing looks like it’d crumble as quickly as a paper airplane for any fender bender.
But it’d be the sexiest paper airplane in human existence.
Tight Car Game in London
Per my London first impressions, the car game is tight here.
This hypercar fits perfectly into the outrageously expensive collection of cars I’ve seen on this single, small, city block over 4 short days.
For example, about 10 hours before seeing this $6.5 million USD hypercar a nearly $700,000 USD Ford GT blasted down the street, its tone immediately detectable.
The Koenigsegg One: 1 is generally regarded by purists as one of – if not the – ultimate hypercar on earth. Basically, it is about the fastest, most eye-catching, exclusive car in terms of the elite super car sect.
I feel like Peter Dinklage would need to step down in order to enter the car.
Hugging the earth, the sleek lines offer a peak aerodynamic experience begging for flooring.
The driver cleaned out of the engine a tiny bit as he left the neighborhood but barely pressed on the throttle.
When your top speed is 273 MPH you cannot exactly put the car through its paces on tight London streets.
Super Car Culture
Minus our trip to Doha, Qatar, London has flashed the most impressive super car culture from our world travels.
Massive wealth resides in this posh city. The Qatari Investment Authority and its $450 billion hold sway here, pouring over $50 billion into UK real estate. Harrods is among the fund’s most high profile investments.
Really though, the ruling Qatari Al Thani family is just one wealthy clan with opulent properties in London.
Astounding wealth from all corners of the globe made its way into this brilliant city.
Roman Abramovich, The Sultan of Brunei and Lakshmi Mittal own estates not a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
Million dollar flats dot this city block within the region of Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens where Kelli and I are house sitting for 2 weeks.
Kensington Gardens estates typically range from $100 million USD to $200 million USD….or higher.
When you’ve $200 million USD to invest in a house you have some spare change between couch cushions to buy a $6 million USD hypercar.

I recorded a short video offering a close-up view of this masterpiece:
