1 Wise Blogging Reminder

I just received another reminder that the split second I step away from Blogging From Paradise Dot Com I completely lose all creative control, executive decisions and for lack of a better term, I stop calling the shots because I do not set the rules or policies in those spots.

This has been an incredibly important reminder for me on a seeming daily basis as of late which also inspired me to publish more posts on my blog.

I own this site, set the rules, run the show and create the narrative.

This is the main reason why I continue to make the wise decision to do more work here and less work away from the blog.

You would be wise to smarten up and give more energy to where you have full creative control and less to off-site sources. Of course I use social media, digital storefronts and an email list. But I will spend a little less time over there since I do not set rules and have no control and more time here since I do set the rules and have more control.

I guess more than anything guys, I see how fear largely dominates the world and business making decisions on sites not named Blogging From Paradise Dot Com.

Fear makes all types of weird rules, strange regulations and constricts not unlike a snake strangling its next meal. I do the fear bit on this site at times as well since I am not an ascended master. But at least I fully control this blog and intend to uplift with love, empowerment and from an abundance mentality.

I am strict as far as setting rules to maintain our values. But I’m highly lenient throughout most of my blogging strategy on this site because I see the negative side effects of trying to punish, manipulate and flat out use people for specific ends.

Blogging wisdom continues to teach me that spending increased time on sites you own makes perfect sense. You may as well create on your own real estate.

Stepping away from your own real estate to spend time on other sites is a good idea as far as expanding your reach. But beware; since you do not control these sites you better believe that things will take a turn from time to time which will waste some energy, create inorganic results and flat out this is not the most effective way to build a loyal tribe and stable online business.

Consider the analogy of your blog being the roots and trunk of a tree. Picture social media, an email list and guest blogging combined with genuine blog commenting to be the branches.

The branches are secondary. The roots and trunk are the foundation.

Visualize that symbolism.

Here in Costa Rica today, we’re experiencing hurricane force winds high in the mountains. The branches on these trees are flailing left and right. Goodness knows more than a few have fallen and crashed to the ground.

But the trunks and roots are true, anchoring and weighing down these trees even as these massive gales toss everything else to and fro, snapping branches from their base.

Your blog is your online home. Spend most of your time here. At the very least, promote most of your blog posts consistently in offsite spots while you keep publishing new content on a regular basis.

Work off site sources to expand your reach far and wide. But pay very close attention to resistance arising on social media, digital storefronts, email campaign providers and other unstable channels which you simply do not control.

I felt compelled to skip writing a blog post today until yet another reminder of an off-site channel inspired me to create and ship this offering to you. In one moment, I intended to do a fair chunk of off-site work. In the next moment I realized why it is so important to focus heavily on publishing new content, promoting old content and not heavily depending on off site channels because these shimmy, shake and sometimes fall apart in less than graceful fashion.

Nothing fell apart today but I did see something fade away. I remain cryptic simply because it’s pointless to discuss the practicality of crying over spilled milk.

Take the wise approach. Buy yourself a gallon and pour yourself as many cups in your house, with your glass. Work what you own to have peace of mind, to drive organic traffic, to build a loyal following and to build an exponentially increasing online business. It really is the only way to do it from sanity, abundance and the general concept of owning your online real estate and spending most of your time there.

Check out the off-site world. Real estate owners generate the most wealth. Renters do not. Squatters make nothing.

Wealthy entrepreneurs invest in real estate which appreciates into millions and billions.

Wealthy bloggers build their sites, investing in their own cyber real estate which eventually yields an increasing fortune.

For all intents and purposes, owners rule the world and everyone else obeys.

This remains true in the blogging world. Wise bloggers who give most time to building their own real estate and spend a chunk of it working off site rule the blogging world.

Everyone else comes in a distant second.

I certainly use social media, Q & A sites, guest blogging and genuine blog commenting from time to time to help people off site and draw them to my blog.

I do not own a shopping cart here. This means that I sell stuff through a digital storefront not onsite.

However, I do not control those sites so receive the gentle reminder to write more content here, to publish it and to keep growing what I own and create with no bounds existing.

This is really the only way to go for the least resistance and to also accelerate your reach far and wide as you build a strong digital footprint while being completely true to you.

The world out there is a bit fishy if not out right wacky. Your blog can be a stable, peaceful center for people to visit and share their thoughts. On a side note, this is why opened comments here.

We can meet and chat being free of the sometimes poisonous tendrils of off-site social media, Q and A sites and those communities that can get weird at times.

I am not against or for these sites. But I do run most everything through my blog since I own it, control the narrative and set the regulations here.

Consider doing the same to have peace of mind and a stable foundation for your online business.
