Developing a successful blogging mindset inspires you to act like a successful blogger.
The general idea: as within so without.
How you think influences how you act.
How you act determines your blogging results.
Getting into the building mindset seems radical for most. People typically work a job to get a paycheck weekly. Few work to build assets. Almost no one patiently builds assets for months or years before consistent income arrives.
Consider this analogy to think like a successful blogger.
You have likely heard the saying:
“If you build it, they will come.”
No they will not!
If you build it confidently and patiently for 1000’s of hours, they will gradually arrive. Exponential growth occurs for long-term builders. Long-term builders seem rare because few display great patience. Not many bloggers build confidently. People panic, bail and quit blogging completely, mostly.
Building it consistently – for quite a long time – gradually draws quality blog traffic. Organic traffic slowly morphs into blogging income. As for time frames, prepare yourself to blog for 1000’s of hours to build passive traffic and passive income. Do you get paid for those 1000’s of work hours, like receiving a weekly paycheck?
Nope.
Building your blog consistently with a long haul approach nets passive income.
If you keep building it bigger, and bigger, and bigger, people will come to support your blogging business. But few bloggers advise patient building. This is one reason why most bloggers fail; bloggers build their blog without finishing the blogging job.
If you keep building your blog, people will slowly, steadily and persistently find your blog but you need to keep building through thick, thin and every stage in between. Most bloggers quit before building a granite-like foundation for driving organic traffic and blogging income.
Consider Blogging Successfully to Be Like Building a Mansion
Home builders lay a strong foundation for a massive mansion.
Building the foundation properly requires mindful work. Sans a strong foundation, the house will collapse. This is why laying a granite-like foundation is important. Everything begins there.
What makes a strong blogging foundation?
- target blog posts for your singular blog reader
- stick to your blogging niche
- publish long-form blog posts to lower your bounce rate
- keep readers onsite by linking to popular posts
- keep readers onsite by linking to related posts
- inter-link to blog posts to keep readers around
Peep this blog post; yeah, the one you currently read.
I completed building my blogging foundation years ago. But every brick-blog post is just as important as the prior. I set the Blogging From Paradise precedent in 2014 when I wrote and published my first few blog posts.
Laying the house brick by brick is painstaking work. But for a brilliant-looking, seeming fortress, this is the type of work you need to do. Taking shortcuts affects the integrity of the mansion. Never mind how shoddy work makes the house look like a haha shack.
Every blog post counts.
Every brick is like a blog post. Researching, writing and publishing each post takes ample time. Following this process hundreds to thousands of times requires patience. Confident bloggers trust in themselves. Assured bloggers trust the blogging process. No builder completes the job overnight. No blogger builds a full-time blogging income overnight.
Each Brick Counts
Mindfully laying each brick counts.
Mindfully researching, writing and publishing long form, targeted content counts.
You cannot rush the building process; problems follow.
Wise bloggers feel a sense of urgency but never force the process mindlessly.
Set aside 2-3 hours to research, write and publish blog posts. Invest time to do the job effectively. Take your time. Think like a successful blogger. Build meticulously. Pay great attention to detail.
Consider Time Frames
Homeowners who build their mansion from scratch buy their plot of land first.
From that point, to hiring a team who builds the mansion, to moving in, often takes months.
Bloggers buy their cyber plot of land by investing in their domain and hosting. Learning how to blog successfully, publishing helpful blog posts and creating offsite content takes years. Typically, bloggers spend 1000’s of hours building their blogging mansion before earning a full-time income.
Never lose patience during this process. Be confident. Believe in yourself. Believe in the blogging process. You can and will succeed. Get into the building mindset. Consider the freedom of this gig. Imagine building your blog into an asset that generates passive income. This takes great time and work. But frame the time and work as a freedom investment, not a painful sacrifice.
Castle to the Sky?
In reality, the work never really ends if you want to test the limits.
Builders eventually complete the main build.
Bloggers can build a blogging castle to the sky if they wish.
No limits really exist because anyone can just keep publishing detailed blog posts as long as they choose.
But easy does it. Slow and steady is the path. Aim not to publish 10,000 blog posts right now. Lose yourself in the process of writing your current long form blog post. Lay an effective foundation for a full-time blogging business. That’s important. Never look past that process. Building a rock solid foundation makes monetizing far easier.
Concentrate on the work not the end results.
Fall in love with the blog building process.
Have fun with it.
Love helping people with content.
Getting lost in the blogging process allows the results to manifest organically.
Let your work take care of the results.
Build it the right way.
Allow it to work for you.
Conclusion
Build your blog like building a mansion.
Focus heavily on establishing a rock solid foundation.
Publish targeted content consistently.
Go long-form to increase time spent onsite.
If you build it consistently….for a long time….they will come.
