I could care less about how hard you work on your blog.

Results flow from your mindset.

You think, feel and do based on what you tell yourself to do in the mind.

Few humans are aware of this truth. Why do you think that the government and politicians are both so popular and hated? Most people really believe that they are:

  • mindless
  • powerless
  • completely dominated by external events, people and conditions

As you can imagine, most people in this world listen to a savage inner critic that makes life difficult sometimes and always filled with problems.

I have some good news for you.

Following a few practical strategies exposes the inner critic with precision. From there, looking past then changing your mental narrative increases both your worldly success and peace of mind.

Keep these ideas in mind to conquer your inner blogging critic.

1: Meditate

Meditate.

Become aware of your inner blogging critic.

Consider this tip to be A1. Nothing happens until one becomes aware of the nasty negative voice airing grievances in the mind. How can you solve a problem if you don’t know it exists?

Most bloggers blame Google for their struggles. But Google never handcuffed any blogger. Struggling bloggers harboring a victim mentality steeped in a wicked inner voice slam into search engine issues. Google had nothing to do with it; their mind made the problem.

Practical Tips

  • set aside 20-30 minutes daily
  • find a quiet spot
  • turn off your phone
  • follow your breathing
  • shift the focus back to your breath after the attention wanders to thoughts, feelings, memories and bodily sensations

Meditating creates space around your thoughts.

Creating space reveals long dormant thoughts buried in the unconscious mind.

Expect to hear your inner blogging critic loud and clear as your meditation sessions increase. Becoming aware of the voice calling the shots in your life is an eye-opening experience.

I did not believe some of the awful voices within dominating my blogging strategy. Meditating revealed that my struggles were 100% internal, like with every blogger. We are not mindless robots. We experience life based solely on our minds, or, based on our inner dialog.

Meditating consistently exposes the dialog. From there, you get to move in a freeing, successful, peaceful direction by changing the inner narrative.

2: Follow Pro Blogger Guidance

Pro bloggers guide you based on abundance not scarcity.

The dastardly inner critic is all about scarcity. Negative inner dialogues bleed with a sense of loss.

Pro bloggers guide you to blog with:

  • posture
  • confidence
  • patience
  • clarity

Listening to experienced bloggers establishes an abundant inner voice radically different from the negative chatter in your brain box.

Follow top blogs from your niche. Read posts. Take notes. Buy eBooks and online courses. Hire pros to coach you.

Change your inner conversation. Silence the critic. Tell the cheerleader to speak up.

Genuine pro bloggers speak an uplifting message. Bask in their positive outlook. Surround yourself with full-time bloggers.

Learn their ways. Think, feel and act like pro bloggers.

Pros think abundantly. Full-timers blog with posture.

Following their guidance goads you to blog with abundance, from a posturing approach.

Becoming confident instantly changes your mental chatter from negative to uplifting.

3: Exit Your Comfort Zone

Leave your blogging comfort zone consistently.

Root out fears in the mind fueling your inner blogging critic.

Leaving my comfort zone stunned me; did these thoughts really creating a vicious running narrative in my mind?

You bet they did.

I discovered the negative mental chatter after doing blogging stuff that scared me.

For example, writing, self-publishing and selling my first eBooks triggered strong fears. Selling my eBooks felt highly uncomfortable at first. I feared no one would buy these guides. I felt terrified to receive negative reviews. I figured selling eBooks to be a mammoth waste of time.

Each of these negative thoughts surfaced in the mind only after I rocketed outside of my comfort zone to write eBooks.

Leave your blogging comfort one. Do things that frighten you. Your inner blogging critic will blabber.

Listen to the negativity running its mouth in your noodle.

Face, feel and look past the fear-based narrative in your dome.

Practical Ideas

  • write your first comment on a popular blog
  • chat with a well-known blogger via a public comment on social media
  • create and sell your first online course
  • submit your first guest post to an authority blog
  • fire headache-inducing clients who prove to not be worth the effort and pay
  • raise your rates/prices

Work from this list of practical ideas.

Search your fears.

Leave your blogging comfort zone.

4: Lose Negative Nelly Bloggers

Trash negative bloggers.

You know who I mean. You know what I mean.

Every blogger errs in keeping around critical minds; most feel too guilty to look past negative individuals permanently.

I suffered through stretches for making this mistake. I felt bad to let go of folks who meant well but complained a bit too much. The complaints resonated with my inner blogging critic. I handcuffed myself and threw away the key.

Conquering some of my guilt inspired me to break off these relationships. As the negative voices went away, so did the nasty inner dialog running its mouth in my mind.

Forgive critical people in your network by looking past these individuals. End these relationships.

Inner love grows in a loving environment.

My Experience

At the outset of Blogging From Paradise in 2014, a few seeming fans turned into harsh critics quickly. Readers who loved my first few posts proceeded to skewer the next few.

I ignored these people.

Why?

My content felt truly helpful. Loyal readers told me it was truly helpful. I intuitively knew it was helpful, genuine content. Resonant readers verified my gut hunch. The sour patch bloggers clearly had a problem with themselves. My blog seemed to be an easy target for their negative projections. Life sucked for them. Why not take it out on a happy go lucky blogger who’s guiding others to live their dreams?

I stopped approving and replying to their comments. Every single critic vanished into thin air.

Look past suffering bastards to silence the jerk in your mind.

Focus on being truly helpful for fans who appreciate your service.

5: Feed Fans

Feed fans with your attention span.

Reply to folks who engage your content on social media.

Reply to blog comments.

Give love to peeps who show you love.

Dissolve the inner blogging critic by getting lost in love.

Surround yourself with rabid fans who know, like and trust your blog.

Feast on their support.

Where your attention and energy goes, grows.

Giving love to loyal fans grows love in your mind.

Critical voices die in the mental garden of love.

Conclusion

Never try to outwork your inner blogging critic.

Face it.

Look it dead in the eyes.

Then look beyond the negative voice.

Change the narrative.

Build yourself up.

Stop breaking yourself down.

Greater blogging success awaits you.
