How to Retire to a Life of Island Hopping (Part 2) by Ryan Biddulph

People look at me like I’ve 3 heads.

Others believe I just disembarked off of the Weird Mobile from Mars.

Well….some people think these things.

Why?

The world believes that it is impossible to live a life of continual travel for years.

Severe psychological attachments to:

  • jobs
  • businesses
  • money
  • special relationships (family and friends)
  • familiarity, comfort, rituals and routines

makes the idea of building your life INTO a vacation versus surviving with the rare exhale known as vacation impossible.

But it is only impossible in your mind.

I wrote this eBook to remind you that you, too, can retire to a life of island hopping as a full time digital nomad.

If I did it you can do it.

This eBook is how I did it.

This eBook is how you can do it.

Who Is this eBook for?

Aspiring digital nomads.

Part-time travelers, too.

Here’s why: some do not seem ready to retire to travel but want to travel consistently while maintaining a home base. Practical tips from this read work perfectly for this crowd as well.

Being a digital nomad ain’t just sunshine and floppy puppy ears. Fear arises the moment you leave the narrow confines of the world.

My guidance eases you through those fears to keep the dream alive.

You know the drill:

  • go to school
  • get a job
  • buy a home
  • start a family
  • work the job to pay for the home and family
  • retire
  • drop dead….eventually

Jokes aside, the last bullet point needs to trigger an alert in your mind: “What the f*ck am I doing here?!”

Most people following the bullet point steps above do not feel consistently happy, peaceful and liberated on a worldly level. Deep down, everyone buries that question but feels terrified to allow it to arise. Most are even more horrified at the honest answer.

I wrote this eBook and filled it with practical tips to guide you from being home-bound to circling the globe non-stop.

Most of the time, this life is really fun because it feels like an extended vacation lasting for years. Or in my case, lasting for 15 years.

In rare moments, fear surfaces as you leave your comfort zone.

But since you desire a lifetime of fun versus facing a few moments of fear you ease through resistance to keep the digital nomad thing going.

You will also look back on your former life with a grin. Why? You figured out the secret: everything happens in your mind first and foremost. The world just reflects decisions one makes in the mind.

Change your mind about appearing to be stuck in your home town.

Begin traveling after you change your mind.

I share the practical worldly tips to do that.

At the end of the day, though, this is an inner journey as you change time zones like most change their mind.

Here we go……

Chapter 1: You’re Not Going to Believe What I Just Did

Blame it on the baklava.

I just erased 15,000 words. I erased this whole freaking eBook. Seriously. After a few hour’s worth of dicking around with this eBook I finally got fed up: what the heck was I doing? Why was I forcing it? I mean, Kelli and I just enjoyed a $33 meal at JFK Airport in New York City. We’re on our way to Bali.

Exciting I know. I’m talking the baklava, not the Bali. I’m talking ’bout dropping 33 clams – K Cooper Biddulph picked up the bill – on 2 sandwiches, a lemonade, 2 baklava and a bottle of water.

Joking my Blogging from Paradise kiddies, joking.

Bali is the REALLY exciting part. Even more than Bali though: the fact that I had the stones to delete an entire eBook in a split second.
Why?

Release Precedes Acquiring

I cringed reading the first few chapters of this eBook. I initially penned this bad boy by the rice fields of Bali in early December, 2014. Hey, I am no Hemming-way (see why?) but the first draft was…well…..decent, I guess.
