Most bloggers completely ignore why organic traffic is important.

I made this mistake for years.

Working hard and long to try to force inorganic traffic to my blog tired me out. I also struggled to grow my blogging business because how can you succeed by unintelligently trading success for time? I mindlessly tried to publish as much content and meet as any people as humanly possible until I discovered this: I would run out of time.

Eventually, I slowly and steadily increased organic traffic to Blogging From Paradise because I saw the importance of this traffic type.

Organic blog traffic flows to your blog based on:

  • the merit of the blog posts you publish
  • your credibility
  • the size, scale and loyalty of your community
  • your blogging skills

For example, imagine publishing one highly-detailed, SEO-optimized blog post that drives 5,000 highly targeted, highly-qualified visitors to your blog without ever:

  • looking at the blog post
  • touching the blog post
  • updating the blog post

for quite a while.

That is a fairly extreme case of organic blog traffic.

You do such a good job that the good job nets you a hefty amount of targeted traffic and passive blogging income based on the merit of the blog post, itself.

Smart Work Required

Don’t get me wrong; you will need to:

  • practice blogging
  • be patient
  • be persistent
  • be generous
  • trust yourself
  • trust the blogging process
  • blog intelligently

for a long time to generate steady, substantia, organic blog traffic. No blogging shortcuts exist. But if you realize why organic blog traffic is so important you will patiently blog intelligently to free yourself through this traffic type.

Check out why organic blog traffic is critical to your blogging campaign.

1: Organic Traffic Is Laser Targeted Traffic

Organic blog traffic attracts highly interested visitors.

Highly interest visitors become:

  • loyal readers
  • customers
  • clients
  • rabid fans
  • brand advocates
  • highly engaged

For example, after publishing this post:

14 Successful Bloggers to Follow

it registered 133 blog comments.

Highly interested bloggers who found the detailed, in-depth post organically through:

  • Google
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • my guest posts
  • my genuine blog comments

shared their genuine thoughts through roughly half of those 133 comments. I replied to each comment to net the 133 thoughts.

Jimbaran, Bali.

Based on doing a good job with the post I drove a heavy amount of organic blog traffic drawing in highly interested, engaged bloggers who helped grow my:

  • traffic
  • profits
  • comments

Organic traffic is the highest quality blog traffic because every organic visitor wants your blog content on some level. This in a world of struggling bloggers who inorganically try to force disinterested blog visitors via spamming, scamming, publishing thin content and volume promoting low quality content.

Boost organic blog traffic. Drive targeted traffic to your blog.

2: Passive Traffic Flows to Your Blog Around the Clock

Organic blog content flows to your blog around the clock.

Organic traffic masters like Anil Agarwal drive organic blog traffic 24-7, 365. He patiently goes in-depth with each blog post to guarantee that every post drives blog traffic all day long. Anil can then work on his next heavily-leveraged post, work on some other element of his blogging campaign or go to the movies, all while his organic traffic rockets higher to grow his passive blogging business.

Organic traffic leverages your blog. Instead of trading your precious blogging time for traffic you actually allow a blog post to use its time to drive blog traffic while you do something else.

Unfortunately, most bloggers struggle because they never consider this idea. Most bloggers trade time for success. Bloggers tend to only drive traffic and earn profits when they are working in front of a computer. Blogging becomes a job for them; work X hours to get X dollars. Burnout sets in, they quit blogging permanently or they smarten up to begin driving organic blog traffic around the clock.

3:  Credibility Rules

Organic blog traffic flows to bloggers who exude:

  • credibility
  • trust
  • authority

But organic blog traffic also *gives* bloggers:

  • credibility
  • trust
  • authority

People who find your blog organically through:

  • Google
  • referrals from bloggers they trust
  • referrals from your current customers
  • referrals from your current clients

tend to trust you and your blog before arriving. Google, trusted bloggers, customers and clients send trusting readers to your blog organically. If someone arrives trusting you and your blog they automatically perceive your blog content in a more trusting light.

Traffic Grows Organically through the Merit of a Blog Post

The merit of a highly detailed blog post drives organic traffic to your blog.

After publishing a detailed post for your loyal community:

  • they share it with their tribes
  • their tribes share it with their tribes
  • Google rockets the post to page 1, position 1 for a long tail keyword
  • the post gains traction on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

10,000 to 20,000 to 50,000 people see the post in a relatively short amount of time because the quality, depth, detail and value of the post itself draws a heavy volume of people to the post based on its merit.

After you spent 5 hours writing the SEO-optimized post you:

  • tap a Retweet button
  • tap a Facebook Share button
  • share the post to LinkedIn
  • spend 5 minutes sending the post to your email list

Drawing 50,000 people to your blog organically in a short period of time through 5 hours of  quality work is smart blogging.

4: Exposure Multiplies Exponentially

Organic blog traffic multiplies your blog exposure exponentially through channels like:

  • Reddit
  • Quora
  • Google
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • niche specific forums
  • YouTube

Basically, each helpful piece of content you publish with quality, depth and detail in mind keeps getting picked up in various spots online.  Eventually, if you show patience, organic blog traffic allows your blog to be seen in many spots online as your traffic grows exponentially.

Inorganic traffic only grows in linear fashion. Expect linear growth at best as you attempt to force traffic to your blog through manipulative methods.

Organic traffic skyrockets dramatically over the long haul. Expect exponential growth as the fruits of your labor blossom dramatically.

5: Freedom of Time Expands

Organic blog traffic frees your time.

Bloggers who drive organic blog traffic around the clock:

  • take vacations for days, weeks or months
  • nap often
  • enjoy time offline

For example, I felt tired earlier today. Since Blogging From Paradise draws organic blog traffic around the clock I took an hour-long nap knowing that people would visit my blog as I slept.

Pro bloggers use the adage of “making money while you sleep” but organic blog traffic that flows to you without your continual physical effort eventually allows you to blog or not blog for extended periods of time. If you patiently blog with leveraging in mind you can attract heavy organic blog traffic and blogging profits while sitting on a beach in Bali for 1 week.

The 1000’s of intelligent, generous blogging work hours you put in over years positions your blog in so many spots online that heavy traffic flows to your blog whether you are blogging online or relaxing offline. This is pure freedom. This tends to be one end goal of all bloggers.

I love blogging like the next guy. But I also love traveling, training my mind, exercising and spending time with my wife, family and friends. Organic blog traffic multiplies your blogging success while you spend time offline.

At the end of the blogging day, either you have a successful blog or a job masquerading as a blog requiring your work to keep it afloat.

Increase your organic blog traffic to free your time.

Note; until you drive epic organic blog traffic you will need to work quite a bit. But blogging intelligently and persistently gradually frees up your time through organic blog traffic.

6: Save Energy

Organic blog traffic saves your energy because after you blog intelligently for a long time you simply blog less.

For example, observe this post published by Neil Patel:

Six Figure Consultant: 4 Proven Services Every Blogger Can Offer to Make Money Online

Masterpiece blog posts like this drive steady organic traffic around the clock. Forget the fact that he linked to Blogging From Paradise as the 2nd backlink, mentioning me by name……:)….Neil did such a good job that he doesn’t need to expend vast amounts of energy promoting it, pushing it and trying like mad to get people to see it.  He does not need to work hard on that post anymore because his intelligent, generous, patient work frees his energy from working on the post again, save a quick update for broken backlinks.

Organic blog traffic frees your energy. Smart entrepreneurs do a good job for a long time in order to eventually sell the business and retire. Or they keep the business in the family and eventually hand off their duties to family members.

Work smart now to work less in the future and to explore different exploits, like spiritual growth or mindset training.

7: Organic Blog Traffic Brings the World Together

Imagine publishing a detailed blog post dripping with value.

El Valle de Anton Panama

People find the post organically through the post’s merit.

The 1000’s of humans who find your post come together to:

  • connect
  • learn
  • help each other

Any time humans bond, learn and help each other the world appears to become a better place. On a deeper level, any time a collection of minds join for a pure purpose, love expands and fear dissolves in that union.

If this concept sounds a little high level for you just visualize people organically meeting for a party honoring someone they love. Largely, every one feels mentally good to be there because all meet in love. People love parties. People love feeling good about connecting with each other. Good-feeling people brighten the world.

Organic blog traffic is important because by drawing people together in the spirit of goodness all of these minds mingle and brighten the world.

For an example of this concept, follow Gary Vaynerchuk. Observe how his tribe organically meets to lighten up the world. Bask in those good vibes to realize the mind power of organic blog traffic.

Organic blog traffic never increases dramatically.

Overnight blogging success does not exist.

However, if you blog generously, patiently and intelligently you will enjoy the freeing benefits of organic traffic.

Thank you for breaking this down. I have an ongoing debate with a fellow blogging friend who gains traffic primarily through social media. I have been stepping up my game with SEO and Keyword Research and gaining traffic organically. You have given me some great point for our next friendly debate over a cocktail!

Good deal Veronica. Social media traffic rocks too but requires trading time for traffic mostly. I tired of that trade-off LOL.

Great post. How long does it take you to share your blog posts through social media and sites like Reddit and Youtube on a daily basis? Is this an all day thing?

    • Ryan Biddulph says:
      at 11:38 am

Thanks Randall. 🙂 Sharing on social media takes about 15 seconds daily for my new blog posts. Sharing old blog posts takes 10-15 minutes collectively. Replying to questions on Reddit takes about 30 minutes and I spend 5 minutes recording and uploading a video to YouTube.

Great points. My stats are wildly skewed towards the organic, but they’re VERY specific to WordPress. I wish I had more channels like SEO to drive more visitors to the site, but I’m not willing to do that while I sacrifice my novel-writing time. Opportunity costs and whatnot. Still, engagement is always awesome, and organic traffic does tend to encourage engagement more than paid traffic ever will. Anyway, thanks for this post!

Cool Stuart. You have quite the organic traffic tribe through WordPress.

Thanks for this great helpful article.
One of the most overlooked ways to generate extra traffic and build your brand is through organic search results. Many small and medium-sized businesses overlook the power of organic search and the potential of building a relationship with potential customers through the power of search. The right mix of organic search and social shares can help build your brand and generate new visits to your online business.

Amen to your comment, Mehdi. Agreed 100%.
